Lovely place in lovely position. The only issue we had was the small double bed was a bit too cramped so we ended up using a separate single bed as well. Otherwise all good.

Noosthamar is an amazing location with jaw dropping views. A wonderfully calm, relaxing and beautiful place to stay, where you can explore or get away from it all. Joanne is a great host, so if you can get a booking, go! Five stars all round.

Take a look at the map. Yes! It feels like you are just about at the end of the world. You can see Viking ships gliding onto Burrafirth Beach. Remains of croft houses in the surrounding hills echo times of hard work and determination by multiple generations of farmer families. Did these people delight in the many rainbows over the hills of Hermaness as I did? These musings, however, come to you surrounded by the many comforts Noosthamer offers. For me, all the essential boxes were checked: cleanliness, ease of operation, safety features. Add to this, the up to date decor, thoughtful household organization and entertainment options and I had the perfect stay. Easy communication with the host, along with her helpful directions and information, dispelled any anxiety I had about getting to and being “at the end of the world”. Many thanks Joanne!
