My friends and I rented this house as we were part of a wedding party at a nearby venue. The hosts were very responsive with any questions we had during our stay. The only things that were a concern for us was the overnight train schedule, which is out of their control. We have all agreed that we would use this house again in the future!

The Rose House is beautiful and our party of 7 (6 adults and 1 child) had a nice stay... apart from 1 surprise... Bugs. Lots of them. Right away upon entering we found ants crawling on the sugar bowl next to the coffee maker, in the shower upstairs, on the kitchen table, and all around the basement. No one wants to stay on the pull-out down there and I don't blame them. There were traps in the corners of the house, but the ants persisted throughout our visit. There were quite a few dead bugs (like ladybugs and crane flies) in the windowsills and on the floor behind the couch, as well as a dead bug in one of the beds. We also had to kill a black wasp in one of the upstairs bedrooms and a large spider. And one of our group members got a tick just from crossing the stream out back. The train was louder than we expected, but we weren't bothered once we were asleep. We also enjoyed the pretty decor. I would just be aware that this is a decently rustic place even though it's very close to town.

The best Airbnb experience yet. Totally great stay! The cabin is in nature surrounded by trees. I’ve stayed here multiple times & never had any issues with bugs. It’s clean. Crew is extremely picky with houses & everyone likes this property. Keep coming back because it’s so great.

The location is very close to Springfield. if you like a rustic look with nature time of setting this is it. We were concerned about the train tracks being so close to the house, don't. The owners have insulated the walls and windows to the point you don't hear the trains. Very well maintained and cozy.

Great stay! Highly recommend for business trips, writing and great for families! Easy drive to amusement parks the lakes and tourist activities.
