An absolutely amazing place with wonderful hosts who are always helpful and respect one’s privacy. The furnishing and kitchen equipment is breathtakingly good (excellent BBQ area, a wood fired pizza oven, all sort of kitchen appliances you could imagine) - it is simply amazing and so inviting to cook in the outside on the wonderful terrace. The loft offers incredible views and offers a lot of calm. A lot of love for detail, design, a lovely welcome package waited for us on arrival. All of that justifies the slightly higher pricing. We could not have wished for more and hope to be back soon! Muchas gracias, Cris y Javier, por esta experiencia!

Wir haben uns ab der ersten Minute an sehr wohl gefühlt. Christina und Ihr Mann waren uns tolle Gastgeber, sehr diskret und total Hilfsbereit. Sie haben die Wohnung mit sehr viel Liebe und Geschmack eingerichtet, es hat uns an nichts gefehlt. Die Front inkl. der Seiten sind verglast, so das wir den wunderschönen Ausblick, selbst aus dem Bett heraus, genießen konnten. Wir werden sicherlich wiederkommen, Danke für die schönen Tage, Lieben Gruß nach Andalusien, Sabine und Johannes

We enjoyed our stay very much, even though it was raining from time to time. The place is quiet and with a fantastic view. When it was raining we were at home reading and cooking (amazingly equipped kitchen), and when the weather was better we were hiking (and saw some Iberian ibexes high in the mountains!).

If you’re looking for peace and tranquillity with stunning views of the Andalusia hills, this place is it. It has floor to ceiling windows, a large terrace, and quality furnishings and decor. We loved the chef’s kitchen overlooking the hills. Cooler days were still cozy with the log burner. The terrace is to die for! You do need a car, and the hair-pin roads can be daunting at first, but one quickly gets used to them. The village of Canillas de Aceituno is a few minutes drive away, with a couple of small grocery stores, bakeries, and restaurants. There are many excellent hikes in the area (we used the Komoot app), including some from Canillas itself. Cris and Javier, the owners, are the perfect hosts. They live upstairs but you still get complete privacy with the sole use of the terrace, and we heard no foot steps from upstairs. They provided us with good tips about the village, hikes, and the area. We highly recommend attending their pottery workshop, even if you’re not artistic!

I cannot say enough great things about both Casa Al-Zaytun and Cris and Javier as hosts! The space is beautiful - stunning views, peaceful, relaxing, well designed. It has everything you need to make the most of your stay, especially in the kitchen, which is fully equipped. I stayed for nearly six weeks, for remote working mostly, and it was wonderful. I did not want to leave. It's a comfortable and homely space, with lots of light and air. A spacious and private terrace and the perfect spot for a glass of wine with sunset. Cris and Javier fully deserve the "super host" label. Helpful, friendly, unobtrusive, really warm, and welcoming. Respected my privacy, whilst making sure I knew they were available for anything at all I needed. They greeted me with a welcome basket, including an evening meal and necessary groceries, as well as local fruits and vegetables, and throughout my stay dropped me off home made kimchi, and more local fruits. I loved my stay and will go back!
