Our very happiest guests are those who have read the entire descriptions of our properties, We want you to have the best trip you can in Tulsa and knowing what to expect is the first step to success. Scott and I live in the Heights Historic District, The tree house apt is a separate building from our home. The mother in law house and the Grey Bungalow off Route 66 are great options for easy access to downtown events, TU, Route 66, Cherry Street restaurants and activities. Scott is a marriage and family therapist, NPR radio music show host, musician, poet, writer, concert host. Our mother in law house (yellow house)on Cherry St. is right behind his office which has now been converted into another airbnb as he has now decided to work only remotely during the pandemic.. I am an artist and teach adult painting in Tulsa, and have worked for over 15 years with the Arts and Humanities Council as an artist in residence at Hillcrest Hospital. You will see some of my work in each property. Both Scott and I are writers, me with two how-to books on painting and one children's book on foraging, and Scott is a published author with his book of poetry and lyrics called These Stones, and is an award winning song writer. We have books and paintings available for purchase in each property, If it is on the wall and signed by me... it can be purchased. We open our home to traveling musicians around twice a month and give them an opportunity to share their gifts with our house concert guests and hopefully send them on their way with a good meal, a good night's sleep and pockets full of gas money. If you are fortunate enough to book our place on one of those nights please let us know if you would like to join us. House concerts unlimited. We are both outdoorsy people who both grew up in farm country with a river in the back yard, mine in the Catskill Mountains and Scott in the Mississippi Delta. We have attempted to duplicate some of our childhood surroundings in the back yard of our main home with a water garden, flower gardens and a huge organic veggie garden. We love reading ( Scott was an English Lit major in college), going to great movies, catching free concerts at the Guthrie Green and visiting our favorite restaurants, and of course, hiking around in the wild places in Oklahoma. We love our neighborhood and city and if we have the time and you would like to, we are free to share our favorite spots with you... places to eat, hidden treasures, outdoor and indoor activities. Just ask. ( I also leave a list at each property) We try to be the best hosts we can be and welcome your five star reviews. Please note that this is not like hotel reviews. Airbnb star rating is a bit different. For example a five star review means perfection does not exist but we were happy here. A four-star review means there were some minor issues. A three star review means there were major problems that need to be improved. A two star review means this place is a dump. A one star review is just very very bad like I would rather stay with Norman Bates :-).Our happiest guests are those who fully read about our little getaways so they know exactly what to expect, and what not to expect. If there is anything we need to do that we have overlooked please inform us so that we can make your stay a five star stay. We know our little places are not like staying at a fancy hotel but what we have to offer is a warm, home like feel, with welcoming hosts who care about your comfort and enjoyment of our city.
