Maria was an attentive and communicative host who delayed her own plans to meet us when we were delayed in reaching the studio due to the late arrival of our flight in Lisbon, and some difficulty in finding the location. The studio is as described in the photos, although it can be damp. We were also bothered a bit by mosquitos as not all of the windows are screened. The hot water supply is adequate for two persons but runs out after two quick showers. The rustic surroundings are pleasant as is the garden, with its lemon tree and Calla lilies. There was a lot of barking from neighbouring dogs. We did not hike to the coast so we cannot comment on the distance, but it seems more like 30 minutes. We did drive there but one has to leave the car because the track becomes too rough. We did not proceed too far but it looked like a serious hike to get close to the beach. So, Maria was friendly on the one occasion we saw her and communicated well, but the property had some deficiencies.
Lovely option for one or a couple, and very animal-friendly, which is a huge plus! Beautiful area, close to hiking trails, cliffs and beaches. Maria's house is at the end of the village, but still close to a grocery store and pharmacy (10 min walking). Very quiet location.
We spent 3 nights in the small Studio. The surrounding beaches and coastal villages are lovely. Make sure to have a car to get there. The studio itself is cozy and has most of the necessary appliances. The kitchen pots and pans have been used a bit. Unfortunately the walls have lots of marks of dead mosquitoes. The mosquitoes kept coming in as the chimneys to the kitchen don’t have a net to prevent bugs from coming inside. Overall the studio is nice but could use a touch up here and there.
