Fantastic place to get away into nature with company from a great host and a menagerie of friendly animals, all of whom we miss already! Amazing views over the village from the hill behind the land, a beautiful old Saxon Church fortress nearby and lots of mountain walks. Double bed upstairs on the cabin feels like you're sleeping in the trees and there's two more single beds downstairs to chill in the day or for two more people. Alex went out of his way to show us the local nature and village life, giving us an insight into this part of the world and way of life we'd never otherwise have seen. Highly recommended for young (at heart) couples, individuals and groups of friends.

Fântânele (/f//ɨ//n//t//ɨ//n//e̯//l//je/) is a dream-like settlement in the deep valley of the Zăvoaia Stream, which crosses deep into the heart of a region of high plateaux, strolling its way north, before flowing into the Sibiel River. The valley is scattered with some villages and remote farms with unique architecture (houses with wooden beams and haylofts on stone piles). The diverse folklore - lavishly decorated costumes, popular music and dances, wonderful people - make this an exciting region to explore. Thank you from the bottom of my heart for the continuous effort and dedication on making mine and my sweetheart's short vacation so beautiful.

We had a great time at the location. The host is great and the location dreamy and filled with farm and wild life. Just beautiful!

UUU! Expect to be surprised. Expect to find really lovely hosts and spending time in a place that exceeds the mood you get from the photos. For maximum enjoyment though, make sure you place the bed next to the windows overlooking the trees- it's the bee's knees to wake up to birdies jumping from one branch to the other. The place itself is very cosy and intimate, offering a living-room type of area, a porch and a wonderful, warm, reasonably-sized bedroom, on the upper floor. Even though it looks very tiny from the outside, the cabin is actually offering when it comes to space and relaxation ground. It is not over-furnished, kept simple and practical, but at the same time it has a very personal touch to it. Also, the books displayed in it are a good selection. As for the surroundings, we really loved the fact that there are no other houses around- at least, not visible. The property is pretty large, with an orchard and the forest starting from the property. Also, even though the host lives close to the cabin, you do feel secluded in a sense, and enjoy your full-on privacy. Also, it is amazing how open and friendly the hosts are- we enjoyed a few barbecues and lovely talks together, both at the fire pit and on their terrace. Even more so, not only are the hosts lovely, but also their many dogs and cats <3 and a goat often steal the show... and if you are really into being surrounded by animals, then this is the right place for you. Because at night, forest animals decide to come around and...frolic? We loved this fact, as it gives you a sense of being somewhere authentic, natural and still untamed. Overall, our experience was really positive and we really wished we had spent more days there... But no worries. Talks were already carried out to make sure we go back there, to visit some people we already dare call 'friends'. :)
