Everything was just perfect from the beginning to the end, Luigi was ready to help all the time during our stay and gave us very good recommendations. The place has very beautiful surroundings, we were very impressed by the views and peace we had. Singing birds, small village Scopello, picturesque beaches, warm local people made our stay very unique and willing to stay here again someday.
Had such a great time at Luigi’s, he’s super helpful and responsive. Couldn’t have had a better time. Highly recommend :)
Scopello, between land and sea, a place of enchantment that is lost in time. The ancient city of Cetaria is the first settlement of an area where today there is a small village on a cliff overlooking the sea. The town is characterized only by a few houses and a small beam Norman. Royal hunting reserve of Ferdinand II of Bourbon, Scopello is also famous for its tuna, one of the finest in the history of the Mediterranean, which insists in the bay protected from the famous and huge rocks. Ancient songs of tuna fishermen and fishing techniques blend with traditions associated with rural culture of which there is great testimony in the mountains nearby. An ethno-anthropological usable in a place different from the crowded tourist areas, which still manages to express the authenticity of tradition.
Nearby there is the Zingaro Nature Reserve, Castellammare del Golfo and the ancient city of Segesta with the temple greek best preserved in the world. Scopello is a perfect place to stay not only a few days but for the entire holiday. This is because, besides being one of the most beautiful places in the province of Trapani, has a strategic location, central to reach in 30 minutes or so all the most important places of interest. Trapani, Marsala, the Stagnone with the salt marshes and the island of Mozia, an ancient Phoenician city. The Belice valley and the town of Selinunte, beautiful, largest archaeological park in Europe. Erice, the most beautiful village, and then the wild coast of Macari. Bonagia and Mount hood, San Vito Lo Capo. You can visit in one day the islands Egadi. But from Scopello you are reached in no time even the city of Palermo to visit its artistic and its markets.
Distances from Scopello: Palermo 66 km; Trapani 38 km; Marsala 78 km; Erice 32 km; San Vito Lo Capo 42 km; Segesta 27 km; Selinunte 68 km.
I was born in Palermo but since few years I live in Scopello, in the house near the sea that was built from my gran father, when in the little country lived just shepherds and peasants and tha ancient place for fisching of tuna was in activyties. I love a lot this place and I study its history. Few years ago I move from the city and I started to work as skipper in the touristic boats for trip in the natural reserve of the Ziongaro. I'm sociable and friendly. I enjoy good company, cooking (I was cook) and the sea. I am a journalist, a free diver, dive guide and a navigator. I love listening to the stories of others and tell my making friends before a nice dinner! Living in Scopello, I know very well the whole province of Trapani and I can give a lot of advice to those who visit this land that I love the madness! I love the freedom, travel, adventur and discovery. I worked few years in the underwather archeology but my most important life experience was the crossing of the atlantic ocean with a sailing boat. Go underwather since I was a child developed in me the self for adventur, but sail in the ocean teached me the true meaning of the freedom.
