Nestled near Central Kentucky Wildlife Reserve, The Nest offers an entire upper floor for one price with two freshly renovated private rooms: The Chickadee's Nest (queen) & The Sparrow's Nest (king and trundle), a Gathering room (living room), Paris Coffee Room, bird bath, and bird perch (deck), wifi, monitor/cable in each room. Art classes are offered upon request by children's book author/illustrator, Lori McKeel, for an additional fee. Separate entrance and plenty of privacy and parking! The Nest is extremely clean and artfully designed for a peaceful, restful stay with private access to The Chickadee’s Nest (queen room), The Sparrow’s Nest (king room & trundle bed), the Paris Coffee Room (Kerig/electric teapot/Air-fryer), Gathering Room (living room area), bird perch (deck), and birdbath (restroom). There is an art table with free art supplies, educational toys, books, pack-n-play, high chair and a cherry wood toddler bed; a desk is provided for those wishing to work remotely or to finish that novel. Outside, you must visit the “Bird House” where seeds are dried and art supplies are stored for our art explorers/enthusiasts.

Our stay at The Artist's Tranquil Nest & Studio truly amazing. Bread y Lori were very kind. We felt welcomed, safe, and at home. I would definitely recommend staying here if you are looking for a quite place to get away and relax!

Beautiful setting, so peaceful & quiet. Super clean, homey & comfortable. We met Lori & she was so personsable & thoughtful. The goodies were yummie & much appreciated. Her art work was throughout & wonderful. Nice back deck with great views! The master bedroom & living room are very spacious. Our niece enjoyed painting at the artist desk with all the supplies provided. Lot's of attention to providing all that you need. One of the best places we've stayed for sure. We'd definately recommend staying & we'd stay again & again!!

Lori has a beautiful and welcoming home! It was spacious and our family felt right at home! The home was clean and had comfy beds. The home is set in a beautiful surrounding of the Berea countryside. We would definitely recommend Mrs. Lori’s to anyone looking for a relaxing place to stay!

The Artist's Tranquil Nest is nestled less than a mile from Central Kentucky Wildlife Reserve—a photographer’s paradise—with hiking trails, sunflower fields, varied grassland bird species and a quiet place for rejuvenation and renewal.
Downtown Berea, the Folks Arts and Crafts Capital of Kentucky, is only 10 miles driving distance; Lexington Horse Park, The Ark Experience, Creation Museum, The Bourbon Trail, Cumberland Falls, Mammoth Cave, The Arboretum State Botanical Garden, Evans Orchard & Cedar Mill, various wineries and the Kentucky Music Hall of Fame and Museum are all nearby attractions.
If hiking is your fancy, you may wish hike the Berea Pinnacles with moderate and difficult trails and breathtaking views; only 5 minutes driving distance from The Nest. Tater Knob Pottery and Farm is only 13 minutes away and worth the picturesque drive.
For our dear guests’ safely, children may not be left unoccupied.
Guests may park near the lamppost; we offer plenty of parking to accommodate several vehicles.

Brad and Lori enjoy traveling, culture and meeting people from all around the world. They opened The Artist’s Tranquil Nest in 2021 and are loving the art of hospitality. Brad is a builder and is always making updates to The Nest. Lori has written and illustrated four picture books and is thrilled to host Nightingale Art classes with her guests on the first floor near her art studio.
