It is hard to put into words just how special the hosts Nicole and Geraud are. We arrived late and exhausted after a 7hr drive and they immediatly offered us some soup and drinks in their kitchen. They don't speak English so it was a challenge communicating, but we managed! It mattered little when it was so obvious that their main concern was that we were fed, watered and had a good night's sleep. It didn't end there. We were struggling to decide the best way to see what we wanted in Lyon and soon they escorted us to see some local Roman ruins and then onto the stunning Fourvière cathedral, pointing things out along the way. We then followed them in their car where they showed us Les Halles de Paul Bocuse where we wantd to go and then pointed out exactly where we could park our car! Talk about go above and beyond! They didn't have to do any of that but their desire to ensure we had the best visit possible was clearly their priority. Absolutely lovely, kind, genuine people.
