Kingfisher Cottage is an ideal escape from city life. Located in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, it has the attraction of being close to the restaurants and shops of Hoedspruit whilst providing access to the Greater Kruger & the Blyde River Canyon. The cottage is available to rent for short term stays of 2-14 nights for up to 4 adults on an exclusive basis. If you are a larger family please contact me to see if arrangements can be made. Cottage has solar and battery backup power. Guests have the entire house to themselves and exclusive use of the pool and braai area. The upstairs space is an open plan loft (bedrooms 2 and 3 do not have doors). Although privacy screens are available this space is best suited for families or children. The downstairs main bedroom is en-suite and opens directly onto the deck. The kitchen is large and fully equipped for self catering. The open plan lounge / dining room opens on to the deck.

We had a great stay at a beautiful location. The fireplace was stunning during the nights, and we also enjoyed the pool and terrace during the afternoons. If you’re in for an experience in the midst of the nature, while also looking for a certain degree of luxury, this is the place to go to!

The place is amazing when you want to get in sync with nature whilst not losing the modern feel that you might be used to in your daily. We saw so many animals and there's also quite a few great restaurants not so far from the place. Paul was a great host and we look forward to visiting again.

Located in the Hoedspruit Wildlife Estate, Kingfisher Cottage has the dual attraction of being close to the restaurants and shops of Hoedspruit whilst providing easy access to the Greater Kruger and the Blyde River Canyon. Development in the estate consists of a mixture of private houses and commercial lodges. The balance of the estate is undeveloped “greenbelt” which is home to a wide variety of game including giraffe, wildebeest, kudu and zebra. Birdlife in the estate is also prolific. Kingfisher Cottage is unfenced and during the day warthog are regular visitors and at night be sure to look out for the resident porcupine. As the estate is surrounded by big five reserves if you sit quietly at night you will often hear the roaring of lion and the whooping of hyena.
