I've stayed in some very nice Airbnb properties before but Villa Franymar beats them all! It is spacious, spotlessly clean, stunningly decorated and the heated pool is just delightful! Heating may seem a little unnecessary in Fuerteventura in the summer but I have been on the island during the winter and it's quite a bit cooler from November to March so the heating would be very welcome then! The villa is very well equipped with bathrooms and showers. It also has a barbecue area. The beautifully-paved outside area is very private indeed: although the (quiet) road runs along one side, and there is another villa on the other side, the walls/fencing are very high and no-one can see in. At the end of the property there is a lower wall at the top of a bank, so you can see the magnificent views of the distant volcanoes. María was an excellent host, in frequent contact and visiting every 2-3 days (or sending a relative) to clean the pool (always after checking with us first). She has thought of everything in the villa: from the lovely bottle of wine and chocolates on arrival, through to even a pack of spare surgical masks! There are lots of towels and bed linen, and a washing machine in case your stay is a longish one. There is no air conditioning but every room is equipped with a huge, ceiling-mounted fan. Oh, and there are geckos outside in the evenings! We became quite friendly with two regulars who appeared every night to feast on moths as soon as we turned on the outside lights! The villa is a 15-minute walk from the centre of the funky surfing village of Lajares. The walk is not much fun along the roads, (especially after dark) but there is another, quiet route if you go the other direction from the villa and cross a patch of rough ground (torch or well-charged 'phone needed in the dark). This latter route passes a field of donkeys who appreciate apples or carrots, which you can get from the supermarket in the centre of the village! The bus between Corralejo and El Cotillo passes through Lajares hourly in each direction, running until about 10 in the evening, which is handy for a night out. For the intrepid there is plenty of walking, cycling (and of course surfing) in the area, but be prepared for the heat and the sun if you're not used to it. You may encounter Barbary squirrels who are at their friendliest (because they get fed!) up on the Calderon Hondo volcano at the eastern end of the village. All in all we had a perfect stay and will definitely be returning! Thank you María!

The villa is amazing!! Super clean and with all the possibilities you could want. There is a heated pool, several bathrooms and a huge tv connected to Netflix. The host is wonderful and super friendly. The villa is also very private and located just outside corralejo (about 15 min drive to corralejo center) in the quiet Lajares. It’s perfect if you rent a car and otherwise taxi’s arrive within 10 minutes of calling. Thank you Maria, we will come back for sure! :)
