I enjoyed my 2-night stay at Lysanne's chalet. It is a rural location (about 25-minute drive from Trois Riveriers); the closest grocery store is about a 6-minute drive, though it only carries the basics, so if you are particular about an item I would bring it with you. The chalet is close to the road (nice large driveway to park in) and there is an entrance to the Batiscan Park at the end of the road (a little over a mile away). There is some traffic noise, but I would not consider it disturbing. I loved the hiking I did in the park with my dog (we were the only ones on the trails!). Note that the trails are mostly well-maintained, but are poorly marked, so make sure to grab a map when you enter. The chalet itself is well-equipped with all the kitchen basics I needed. There is a slight sulfur smell in the shower, but it's brief and relegated to the bathroom only (only occurring after a shower). Would happily stay here again when in the mood to disconnect, drink my tea and work on a crossword or two!
