It’s a perfect trip. It’s the place for peace and quiet.
Good bits: - Fireplaces were nice and pizza oven was great - Lots of privacy - Stars and outdoor fire pit were fun - Good TV, fast internet and streaming services Stuff that should have been disclosed in the ad: - The place has a no-flush toilet; it has a kind of electric compost toilet that is run by a loud generator which makes a constant churning noise. This set-up is inside the blue shed, which means that depending on which way the wind is blowing, it can be very smelly and unpleasant indoors. - Upstairs becomes dangerously hot when fire is on. The heat upstairs is a hazard and has already claimed the lives of the plants there. Other issues with our stay: - Dog or cat fur on blankets, cushions, couches (if you’re allergic to animals this is an issue) - Electric stove top wasn't working. - A gas cooker was there but it wasn’t clean - crusty food on the plate. - A number of unclean kitchen items and the one shelf and veg drawer in fridge that was not in use were not wiped clean for our use. - The fridge was smelly because of the mouldy food in it that hadn't been cleared for months. - One of the small trundle beds had several slats broken and was clearly a hazard. - Blankets near couch with stains/animal fur - Only one glass only in kitchen? - All storage and most pantry and half the fridge space in use. There are items strewn around the place, like eczema cream and dirty work boots in the shoe rack - Poorly maintained grounds - small shed that blows around in the wind out the back, the lavender out the back is in a poor state, there’s a small cart full of recycling rubbish on entry
Nice stay, we were toasty warm and the location is super convenient for visiting the Japanese Baths.
We had a really great time in this beautifully furnished shed which was perfect for a weekend away. The fire kept us nice and toasty and the well designed loft was a terrific use of space!
Good little place if you want to get out of the city for a few nights. Nice and quiet and relaxing. 5 minute drive to Lithgow
