A nice stay. We came on Christmas eve and were pleasantly welcomed with all of the Christmas decorations. The house itself was very charming with view of the river. It also had a fully equipped kitchen . Overall, we were extremely satisfied with this house. Thank you to Marianne for the hospitality!

Marianne's home was comfortable and had everything we needed for our weekend visit to Astoria. She was a communicative and friendly host, and the neighborhood was peaceful and close to the waterfront.

Marianne is a responsive host and check-in was easy. Safeway and The Co-Op are a short drive away for groceries. We enjoyed spending time in downtown Astoria and sightseeing in Long Beach and Ilwaco WA. The 1915 house is charming and a mix of original and modern features.. The kitchen and downstairs bathroom are both updated with modern appliances. We opened the windows, which do look original since there weren't any window screens, and the living room ceiling fan cooled the downstairs nicely. Opening the upstairs windows at night and using the fan made a difference also but attracted a few flying insects. There’s no electrical outlet near the bed in the master bedroom so the nightstand lamps don't work. Marianne is living in the house with her cat when she doesn’t have guests so the closets, refrigerator and freezer contained her things with some space left for guest use. This wasn't clear to us when booking so we were surprised.

Marianne's place was perfect for our getaway. We felt so at home we really didn't want to leave. This kind of experience is rare for our history with Airbnbs. The kitchen was spacious and the living and common areas were adorned with cozy lighting and lounging. The antiquitous vibe created an atmosphere of calm and restoration from living in a frantically paced culture- an oasis really. Also, the workspace there allowed for us to keep tabs on our business projects while not having to leave the awesome environment. The bed was super cozy as well! We all had several nights of good sleep.
