Parking a bit of an issue as you have to park up the road but property itself ok. Could do with a but of maintenance but was ok for the 4 nights we were there

First time we have been disappointed with the standard of an Airbnb (but the positives mean we would still consider returning). Great location, a short 5 minute stroll in to Pickering. Beds very comfortable with quality linen and towels and the veranda is a fantastic spot to sit on a sunny afternoon. Negatives: the standard of cleaning - cobwebs in corners, dusty skirting boards, veranda glass with mould not cleaned for many weeks, wine glasses with lipstick around the rims and a vacuum that was almost unusable as the head was clogged with dirt and hair. Secondly the communication was not great - I messaged with a query re availability of garden furniture and received a generic response. On day 2 we noticed a small leak under the sink with mould at the back - again I messaged saying it was not causing us an issue but it needed attention and just had a reply saying to ring them. The positives outweigh the negatives but, with a little effort, the property could be so much better.

A fairly comfortable cottage but with lots of stairs to climb as it is over three storeys. Well located in the pretty market town with a nice deck looking over the valley and onto the steam railway.

lovely place to stay, clean and great central location but still quiet. my kids loved watching the trains from the balcony.
