Carmarthenshire · 整套客用套房 · 1室1床1.0卫 · 可住2人 · A cosy Brecon Beacons retreat with castle views
A warm welcome awaits you in this tranquil corner of the Brecon Beacons/Bannau Brycheiniog National Park. You have the use of your own cosy annexe of the house. Through its private entrance is a hall, double bedroom, shower room and sitting/breakfast room with a food preparation area. With private seating outside, you are free to enjoy the garden and its spectacular castle views. Superb walks from the door. Convenient for Llandeilo, the National Botanic Garden, Aberglasney and Dinefwr Park (NT). The guest annexe is separate and self-contained. We provide you with homemade cake and all the ingredients for a tasty breakfast, including Welsh produce and Mary's homemade preserves, usually made with fruit from our garden. The food preparation/dining area contains a dining table and chairs, fridge (with small freezer compartment), microwave, toaster, kettle and egg cooker. There is no cooker/hob or kitchen sink; we provide you with a washing-up bowl/draining mat and stand, washing-up liquid, tea towel, etc. If you would prefer, we can put your crockery and cutlery through our dishwasher and return everything to you. There's guest WiFi and a table to work at if you'd like to, or you can curl up on the sofa with a good book. Otherwise you can watch the TV or a DVD if you prefer or even play the piano! Guest access: Guests have ample free parking about 25 metres from the entrance to the annexe. For cyclists we have secure, lockable space for your bicycles. There are three steps down from the driveway, which is part hardstanding, part grass and part gravel. A level, paved path takes you to the private entrance to the annexe, where there are three narrow steps up through the door. Once inside, the accommodation is all on one level, apart from a single step of 20cm/8" into the shower.
We had a lovely stay in this beautiful spot. Fantastic views from every window and the place was exactly like the photos. Mary is a wonderful host and very thoughtful and helpful. We would definitely recommend this place.
We had a lovely time staying in Mary and Simon's annexe, they were excellent hosts: welcomed upon arrival, always available to help if needed and given plenty of privacy to enjoy our holiday. Amazing breakfast provision, and the surrounding countryside is wonderful, would stay again for sure, it's a great place to explore from!
Perfect stay - friendly and communicative host, lovely location, cosy place, even breakfast provided! Would definitely come again.
The place is cosy very quite at night, no cars! Which makes it peaceful. The views are spectacular looking out at the castle and at the woods and hills. Few airbnb's can boast such a setting. Mary was very friendly, no complaints. Would recommend for anyone who wants peace and quite and immediate access to amazing countryside.
Mary was an absolute delight to deal with from start to finish. She presents a beautiful property in a beautiful location and we only wish we could've stayed longer. Her attention to detail is brilliant, and she definitely goes that extra mile to ensure her guests are well looked after and enjoy their stay. Her little home-made treats were a welcome comfort at the end of a wet day out exploring. We'd highly recommend Mary's place to others visiting the area.......the bar has definitely been set for the rest of our trip, and it's been set high. Thankyou Mary 😊
This is the perfect place to get away from it all and unwind. The nearby castle, a national treasure, is fascinating because of its history and contribution to Welsh heritage. It's well worth a visit, not least because of the incredible views from its ramparts. There are numerous walks from the house, in a variety of terrain, including bluebell woods, moorland, gentler pastures and riverbanks. We are next to the Beacons Way long-distance path. Brecon Beacons National Park has some of the highest quality dark skies in the UK and on a clear night the views of the Milky Way from our garden are magical.
The bustling, ancient market town of Llandeilo is a 10-minute car journey away. It attracts many visitors who enjoy its cafes, pubs, restaurants, galleries and gift shops. It also offers a wide variety of places to obtain all the basics, eg supermarkets, post office, pharmacies and petrol station.
Slightly further away (around 45 minutes) are some stunning beaches, including Llansteffan near Carmarthen and Cefn Sidan at Pembrey Country Park.
The nearest public transport can be found in Llandeilo or Ammanford - bus or train. There are also local taxi services. Cyclists can enjoy using a number of routes locally.
For your own convenience, having a car is by far the easiest option.
