The neighbors are extremely nice. The property is on both sides of a dead end road, so there is little to no traffic and it is a quiet street. Please understand that Lake Hartwell is managed by the Army Corps of Engineers. They along with the weather are in control of the water level. If we have a week or more of heavy rain, the lake level rises and the gangway to the dock could be under some water, but In this case, you will have nice deep water at the dock. If we are in a drought or the Army Corps of Engineers decides to lower the water level, the gangway may be on dry land and the water at the dock will be more shallow. This dock, because of its location on the lake will never be without water. We are so thankful for the nice deep water at our dock, especially in summer when the lake level tends to drop. Due to the weather, the water lever changes weekly and sometime daily. This is not something that we have any control over. The Army Corps of Engineers also controls the strip of land that borders the shoreline. The clearing of trees is strictly prohibited. Some lots are fully wooded and steep with no view of the water from the house. This property has very few trees, is fairly flat, and has grass to the water. So, there will be no long steep climbs through the woods to and from the dock. If you are at the dock and need to use the restroom, it’s a quick 150-200 feet back to the house. You can even drive your car all the way down to the dock for ease of loading and unloading coolers and such. This type of lot is somewhat rare on Lake Hartwell, but offers the best views and is ideal for boating and swimming and can accommodate parking for several trucks and boats at any one time because the owner owns the land on both sides of the road.
