We loved everything about the Fog Signal House. The location, the light, the views, the design, the outside deck…it is so beautiful and peaceful, we didn’t want to leave. Would return in a heartbeat.

Dungeness is really different place, industrial coast meets nature +++ real feeling of peace and escape, space, air. Minimalist living in the beautifully redesigned fog signal building on the edge of the shingle and u can watch the ships go by and breakfast outside. Water pressure a bit limited but that was the only negative. You will have everything you need and you can just take it all in.

What a wonderful place, fabulous building with an interesting history. Right on the beach with easy access to the shingle, bird watching, shell collecting, tiny train riding, scallop eating. We shall be back, thank you so much.

We had 3 great nights at the Fog Signal Building. I'd dithered about where to stay but felt dawn by the modern, streamlined style of this property. There are some interesting quirks (particularly in the bathroom) but the open plan living area was, if anything, better than hoped for. One of of our favourite views was of the new lighthouse through a side window at night. In the day, watching beach strollers and seabirds being blown about by the wind was great fun. We made ourselves go out on a few trips (eg RSPB reserve and the steam train), which the property is perfectly positioned for. But we also made sure we spent some time relaxing in the unusual space. We could easily have stayed longer. It's not a cheap stay, but it is unique! Definitely would like to return.
