We had a lovely week staying at the rustic, quirky Black Bach. The view overlooking Lake Rotoma was beautiful, as was the bush backdrop. The house had almost everything we needed and Cheryl was a very responsive, helpful and friendly host who provided little extras to make our stay comfortable. We did find the traffic quite noisy.

Please be aware that photos & details are out of date. View is lovely but outside furniture is grubby with a heavy broken parasol lying on it. Plus, at the end of the front garden there is a very busy highway with road trains passing on a regular basis making it difficult to sleep at night even with ear plugs. Bathroom was clean & bed had fresh sheets. Unfortunately the rest of the property was grubby. Kitchen counter tops & walls were dirty. Cooker and oven grimy. All cutlery, plates, cups all needed to be cleaned before use. No cereal was provided as stated just some milk, two large packets of crisps and a plum pudding. There was tea provided & a coffee machine but greasy so didn’t bother. We purchased our own cereal but had to throw away as infested with ants from property. The soda springs mentioned is permanently closed. The microwave is kept in a dirty mud room which was unhygienic & the washing machine was in a grotty outdoor room which we decided not to use as so unclean.

We had a brilliant stay and felt very at home with our twins. Cheryl was a wonderful host with great attention to detail and really took care of all our needs . We would certainly recommend staying here.
