The Patio Villa was a wonderful place to call home during my Portland visit. The cottage & the suite are nicely decorated, clean, and provide for your basic needs. We loved having the privacy that 2 self-contained rooms provided us, and an outdoor patio for socializing. Scott, the host, is warm & friendly, and is responsive to any questions or concerns that come up. And the location is FABULOUS for exploring the Alberta Arts District!! Enjoy your time there 😃

The suite and the cottage are very nice and as described/pictured, share a patio area but are not connected. On the day of check-in, Scott phoned (1:45pm) to ask my arrival time. I planned to arrive after 4pm/check in time. At 4:45pm he phoned to say there was a plumbing issue in the cottage. When we arrived (7:30pm) he was still working on cleaning the patio area and told us the cottage water was shut off. This meant we couldn’t use the bigger kitchen area and my sister would need to use our suite bathroom. Had this been a house it would have still been disappointing, since I wanted and paid for two bathrooms, but simpler than her having to walk outside, enter our suite, walk past the bed to get to the bathroom, at all hours. It was inconvenient for her, me and my husband. As we were settling in, Scott continued to apologize, told me he only discovered the toilet situation when he started to clean and offered a $75 refund for the inconvenience (2bds/2 bath, two nights, with fees & taxes = $996.01. Scott said he receives a fraction of that). The toilet worked the next afternoon but more plumbing issues on our last morning, so my sister opted not to use the toilet after the shower wouldn’t drain. Scott told me all those plumbing issues were fixed after we left. Given the additional requirements of a $600 deposit, submission of ID for each guest (beyond the airbnb requirement) and the detailed instructions and requirements for guests, I had high expectations for the property. Sadly, our experience was disappointing and having this type of situation, a first for me. Hopefully, we both learned something. I learned the host or guest can contact airbnb “aircover” for help in some circumstances. I suggest you read about that in the listing; I hadn’t before. Scott is a gentle and sweet person and I’m sure if all is functioning, you’ll have a good stay.

Magical stay in a wonderful part of Portland. The villa was colorful and cozy. A perfect stay for a retreat in the city. Walking distance from great restaurants and shops. Very comfortable beds. Well-stocked kitchenettes. The patio is beautiful and relaxing day and night. Scott is a welcoming host!

The accommodations were clean and located in a great neighborhood. There is easy walking / quick driving to many restaurants / bars / shops on Alberta. The outside patio is a nice little private retreat. Scott is a great host and was very helpful making sure our stay was a good one.
