Surrounded by native bush, bird life & views over the marina hides this studio retreat. The private Self-contained cabin with comfy queen bed, sun-soaked deck off-street parking & just 5 min drive from Picton the gateway to the South Island. Centrally located to explore coastal drives, bush & bike tracks this holiday haven is a 5 min walk to the Waikawa beach & boat ramp, 8 min to the ferry terminal 10 min walk to the Jolly roger cafe bar making this the ideal place for a 1-2 nights stop over. Originally designed for as an artist's studio set next to native bush, trees and beautiful gardens complete with a lovely view. Inside has queen sized comfy bed with an ensuite, mini bar fridge, microwave, tea & coffee facilities only. To relax at night is a flat screen smart Tv with Netflix & Wi-Fi. The large bifold doors fully open to embrace the outside deck with bean bags and garden seat to enjoy your breakfast in the morning or a vino to take in the sunset. We have stairs to this property, must be reasonable health, definitely worth the view.

We stayed one night in Yvonne’s Artist Retreat, arrived in the dark but what a wonderful view to wake up to, a lovely spot to enjoy a cup of coffee in the morning. Everything we needed for a short stay, very comfortable and spotless. Would happily recommend the Artist’s Retreat to other guests!

Beautiful peaceful, warm and welcoming
After spending a week road tripping around NZ and staying at different airbnbs each night, Vonny's really stood out as one of the best. It was extremely spacious, very clean and private, with a really comfortable bed and lovely hot shower. Vonny does well to pack a lot into the small kitchenette nook - with a coffee machine, toaster, microwave etc. She even provided some bread with jam and butter for breakfast, which was a welcome surprise. The location is convenient, being a great base to travel to and from Picton and Blenheim by car. The best part for us was the view from the deck - watching the sun set over the sounds was absolutely unforgettable. We'd absolutely stay again if we're ever back in the Marlborough region!

You will love the privacy of being up in the native bush with sea views. Gorgeous gardens with cute wee deck off the studio, perfect for that afternoon wine overlooking the marina. We have friendly neighbours but you can’t see them for the trees. Plenty of different walks around the area and Waikawa bay just around the corner.
We are 5 minutes drive from Picton and 30 minutes to Blenheim. Queen Charlotte drive to Havelock takes about 45mins. If you like wine tasting, good art & chocolate visit Saint Clair winery, Return to Eden Gallery and Makana Chocolate factory all a hop, skip & a jump from each other, situated in Spring creek 20mins from Picton.

Hi I’m an artist, Married to Dave (tradie), we have 4 sons 3 who are musicians in a band called Daily J, they have all flown the coup. We are keen on fishing & hunting, so normally out & about. We have 2 listings on this property. The main large house & the Art retreat studio, separate from the main house. Dave and I may be staying in either or we’ll be out in our camper. Both places are separated with a gate. You can also book both places.
