Uralla · 整套民居 · 3室3床1.0卫 · 可住6人 · A night at the Art Studio!
Set behind my working art studio, the original house has been lovingly renovated - a comfortable mix of the contemporary and traditional. As you would expect the space is filled with paintings, sculptures, art books and ceramics. For this reason it's not suitable for children under 15. Pop into the studio if you like! The house is walking distance to shops, eateries, etc. Secure parking for all vehicles. Pets welcome on the premises, but not inside the house. Remembered fondly by many locals as the old sweet shop, I bought this place in 2018. It was leaking and in bad repair. It has been a real labour of love and a huge learning curve renovating from the ground up - mostly by myself. The north east facing kitchen-lounge is awash with sunlight and has a Lopi wood burning heater for atmosphere and warmth during the winter months. A basket of firewood will be provided for guests which should last all night. Smart TV with Netflix, Stan etc, and comfy couches. French doors open out to a brick patio and a 6 seater dining table should you wish to eat your breakfast outside. There is also a fire pit and more seating on the lawn. A spacious kitchen has everything you need to cook for yourself. Inline water filter. Tea, coffee, sugar, chai, hot chocolate is provided. Two of the three bedrooms have queen size beds, and the third has a double. All decorated with beautiful William Morris print fabrics and antique furniture. A laundry with front loading washing machine Parking for any sized vehicle. Pets are very welcome at Bridge Street Studio, but because much of the house is newly carpeted I respectfully ask that they remain outside. There is a large grass yard for them to explore and also a raised kennel and run in a sheltered undercover area where you can put their bedding and feed bowls etc. As the dog is new to the area they may jump my gate or squeeze underneath it, so you can be 100% confident that they are safe and sound in that designated area.
An absolutely gorgeous place, we managed the first fire of the season which made the stay all the more magical. We will definitely be back.
Easy access, off street parking in carport. Very easy to find. Felt really nice walking in. Beds were great.
We stayed overnight at Sophie's place as a stopover on a long road trip and couldn't be happier with that decision! I've always liked Uralla and it was so lovely to spend the night and be able to look around and relax for a day. The art studio is one of those rentals that is even better in person than it looks in the photos. We arrived to a spotlessly clean and cosy cottage that is just so charming and feels like a real 'haven'. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for an overnight stay (coffee, sugar etc), and the living area was so beautiful (super comfy sofas, a great TV, reverse cycle ac) & the beds were so comfortable and warm. Lovely little bathroom and laundry and a wonderful huge fenced yard for our two dogs - they were in heaven sniffing around and having their own little holiday. The art throughout the house is a real highlight - so many beautiful paintings and artifacts! So glad we stayed here, what a gorgeous little place. Thank you so much, Sophie.
Uralla is a quaint town. Easy walk into town for breakfast.( for me anyhow) Or just stay put and brew your own coffee to be enjoyed on the paved courtyard out the back. Thanks for hosting me Sophie. I’ll be returning to Uralla and the art studio again.
We had a lovely three nights here in Uralla. Sophie's property was lovely and very comfortable. Lounge and bedrooms super cosy; we had great sleeps every night. Great to have long mirrors in each room!! Keyless entry to house a bonus. Restaurants and shopping a bonus. Watched some lovely movies on Netflix. Overall a very relaxing Easter weekend away. Many thanks Carolyn, Keith & family :)
Uralla is a gorgeous little town. Grab a delicious breakfast at Michael's Cafe or The Alternate Root. If you walk out of my place and turn right (as though you were heading towards Tamworth) turn left just after the Pursehouse Rural building and you'll find Beca Bakes. They start baking at 4am if you need an early coffee!
Feeling peckish - take your pick from The Top Pub, the Pie Mechanic, Subway, Fung Wah Asian Restaurant, 53 on Bridge, The Alternate Root, Michael's Cafe, Minnie's Tuckshop, Go To Sushi, Moon's Bakery, The Chinese at the Bowlo, Piccadilly coffee. A little further out of town, in Kentucky, is the award winning Dobson's Distillery for tastings or lunch. And the New England Brewing Company is open Wednesday's to Saturday's.
It is worth noting Uralla is one of the very few places I have ever been to that has two working ceramicist, with galleries in the high street. Barking Dog gallery and Chaucer on Bridge Street Gallery are both worth a visit, the craftsmanship is outstanding.
I would recommend the NSW National Parks and Wildlife Service app for information about all the incredible hikes, walks, waterfalls, gorges, National parks etc in this area. They are abundant!
