I had a wonderful stay at the Apple Tree Inn. Check in was smooth and coffee and tea were both available. After going to my room, I realized I had some noisy neighbors in the room above. When I went back to check in to see if any other rooms were available they were very kind and moved me to a quieter room immediately. Beds were very comfy and food and music in the restaurant/bar was a fantastic touch!

These guys seem really passionate about what they are doing to reinvigorate the hotel and I’m sure in time they will be successful. Check in was smooth, and everyone I met was friendly and welcoming. The hotel grounds are beautiful, and the common areas in the main house are nicely appointed. The rooms however are really disappointing. I was initially placed in the lodge which smelled really musty, and the bathroom was in truly poor condition (missing grout, loose tiles, water damage by the tub). I asked to see a second room this time in the main house, which had a very loud and rattling ac window unit, rust around the sink fixtures, and a tub with worn, peeling non-slip decals. I’m okay with old when it is well maintained, but this was not that. In short, the rooms I saw are motor lodge level bad. Bad enough that my girlfriend and I decided to cut our vacation short and drive back to Boston instead of staying there. The hotel did not offer a refund , but it was well worth spending $222 not to spend the night there and drive two and a half hours home.
