Pictures make the place look 5 star. It was old and needs a lot of updating. Door latches don’t work. The couch was sunken in. Door to solarium would let cotton from tree inside. The door wouldn’t lock after we got in. There was spiders and cockroaches found here and there. And lastly, we heard footsteps on the roof of the house. The first couple nights. One of our kids actually thought they saw a silhouette of someone on the roof late one night. Tried to get a hold of the owner to ask or get advice about the possible intruder on the roof but absolutely no response until the last night of our stay. I had called the police and reported the presence of a possible intruder on the roof at night. They kindly said they would patrol the area which helped us feel safer since we had a group of kids with us. The house that fit our party of 20 and pool was good but with a possible intruder and older furnishings and locks that are not up to par, I have made this my first and last airbnb stay.

We encountered a few issues. We didn’t request most be fixed during our stay as many weren’t things that could be remedied while we were there; what we did request the host was responsive to and fair about. The primary problem was cleanliness: the floors were dirty, lots of debris in nooks and crannies, air vents/windowsills were dusty and full of cobwebs. We found old rotting fruit in a kitchen cabinet; we found dirty socks that weren’t ours tucked under the couch in the living room. Only one of the bathtubs would plug/hold water. The water feature on the pool was broken, and the pool was not done heating upon our arrival- the host had his pool guy come and did waive the pool heating fee as a result. The host also agreed to refund the cleaning fee upon our request, but noted a waiting period of up to 14 days, so we have not yet received the refund as of this review. We did find the house very spacious, and appreciated the host’s responsiveness to concerns.

Tristan was the best communicator I have experienced with Airbnb. The property is stunning inside and out, and we are so glad we chose this place and him.
