This is an incredible place - the photos are great but it’s honestly much larger and more beautiful than it appears, fantastic all around. Interesting location, unique architecture and history, extremely responsive hosts that were happy to extend our stay a few days and help us with a couple of requests. There is some street noise but this is typical of Mexico, earplugs might be helpful at night if this bothers you but with AC on it’s not an issue. We really enjoyed cooking in the outdoor kitchen and found Izamal to be a great town (although the stay is so nice you won’t want to leave much). I will definitely rebook without hesitation!
I cannot say enough about this magical space. It was truly a hidden paradise. The pictures don’t even do justice to how gorgeous everything is. It was the perfect space to rest and recuperate during the end of a long solo trip in Mexico. It was also in a great location, a very short walk to restaurants, atms, and the town square. The host was communicative and helpful. Thank you so much!!!
Truly, a hidden gem. Every aspect of the architecture, the presentation, the garden, the location, the amenities are nothing short of perfect! Izamal is a quiet town, and it is magical to be resting in this house and hear the clopp clopp clopp of the horse-drawn carriages going by on the cobblestones. Like being transported back in time! Also magical is the garden which backs up to the base of the Maya temple located immediately behind the house. The crew that greeted me with refreshing drinks and fruit, were exceptionally knowledgeable and friendly, and very tolerant of my bad Spanish! It was a truly wonderful experience, I can’t wait to return!
