I wish I could rate Brice as a host! This would be 5+ stars. The house we stayed at is a “new to them” property and that is evident. We checked in and walked into a horribly filthy house. I contacted Brice and he was extremely gracious and intervened immediately. Got a cleaning crew out to the house right away and they cleaned the house spotless - what a relief! We also realized late in the evening that there were no window coverings in any common area and as a house full of women situated on a busy road, this was uncomfortable. Brice had someone come the very next day to install temp blinds throughout the house. That was awesome! Would still highly recommend actual blinds or curtains in the house for added privacy and design aesthetic. While most of the house has been moderately updated… the main living room shown in the photo is just as pretty as the picture, but almost every other space in the house is quite a bit more tired and dated. If you are looking at that photo and wanting to stay in a home that has high end feel and art ethic, this isn’t it. The kitchen is quite outdated and is not the greatest for cooking large meals. The stove is a very dated electric cooktop and overall, was t great. We ended up eating out a lot more than we wanted because of this. A few things I was surprised by were there don’t seem to be any working smoke or carbon monoxide detectors in the house at all. The yard is unkempt. So if you’re planning on spending a lot of time at the house with kids in the yard, make sure this is a question for Brice leading up to your stay. The lawn hadn’t been maintained in some time prior to our arrival so the grass and weeds were very tall. There is some poison ivy growing by the back sliding door as well. We weren’t able to spread out in the yard as we had hoped. The sliding door in the basement does not lock! This was a huge safety concern for us and was mentioned to the host. The only thing securing the basement slider door is a small 1x that rests in the track. LOTS and lots of spiders in and around the house. Overall, a good place to stay on Catawba Island. Hopefully as time goes on, the property manager will get a handle on property maintenance and as they continue to remodel the house, some of the other issues we experienced will be resolved. Brice is an EXCELLENT host.

This house was fantastic; very spacious and clean. Our group may have preferred a location with a bit more in walking distance, but most everything was just a few minute drive, or bike ride away. People did walk to the state park next door to catch the sunset. The deck provided a nice place to visit with each other and we appreciated that gas was provided for the grill and outdoor fireplace. I would definately consider staying at this house again. Brice was a great host; quick and friendly communication. Check-in was a breeze.

Great spread. Enjoyed the home, the location and that awesome back deck. Take your friends fishing or your family to PIB, and stay here. Ferry is 2 minutes away! Brice was a fantastic host to boot!
