1 Alibaug Beach: Located along the coast of the Arabian Sea, the Alibaug Beach is a picturesque stretch of sand situated in Maharashtra. Alibaug is a black-sand beach which offers the panoramic sight of the Kolaba fort from the shores. Amber sand lies underneath its coarser black counterpart, and its unique sight is further accentuated by the rocks that lazily lie around the entire landscape.
2 Alibag Fort: Situated amidst the sea and surrounded by waters of Arabian sea from all sides, Kolaba fort or Alibag fort is one of the most important tourist attractions in Alibaug. It is a 300-year old fort which was once chief naval station during the reign of Shivaji Maharaj in Maharashtra. This isolated military fortification located amidst the Arabian sea is a spectacular sight. Located not more than 2 kilometres from Alibaug beach, it can be reached by foot during low tides, but during high tides, a boat must be hired.
3 Birla Mandir: Vikram Vinayak Temple or the Birla Mandir was built by the Birla Group as part of its Vikram Ispat Factory Complex. Built atop a hillock Birla Mandir has Lord Ganesha as the main deity. The idol of Lord Ganesha is placed on a marble nave which is intricately carved. The udls of Goddess Riddhi and Siddhi are placed on either sides of the Lord Ganesha idol. There are small temples of Radha-Krishna, Shiv-Parvati and Suryadeva also in the Birla Mandir. Every evening, after the sun sets, lights are turned on, and the aarti is performed. As it gets dark, the sight of the translucent marble reflecting the light is a wonderful sight.
4 Murud-Janjira Fort: Located off the coast of the Murud village near the Arabian Sea, Murud-Janjira fort is one of the strongest and beautiful marine forts of India. Around 55 km from the popular town of Alibaug in Raigad district, Murud-Janjira fort is a very popular historic fort. With the Arabian Sea on all the four sides, this mighty fort has stood for centuries and is a symbol of the brave Marathas of the region. The fort is around 50 feet in height and is regarded as an ancient architectural marvel.
