A unique property on a beautiful estate in a fabulous part of the world. The Turret had everything you could need and is comfy and warm. We had a wonderful time exploring this stunning area.
We had the most lovely time at Sarah’s place in Kinlochmoidart. Once you turn off the main room it’s a short and stunning drive to the property. The drive in to the property itself is spectacular and feels like something from out of a movie. The gardens and grounds, complete with free roaming chickens were again picturesque. It’s remote but there are a few places to stay within the property too so you feel both completely private and remote but also safe with others nearby. We were happy with the location as we were a relatively easy drive away from all the sites we wanted to visit (Glennfinan, Mallaig etc). We were travelling for our daughters first birthday and looking for that somewhere special - Sarah’s place completely fulfilled and passed those expectations.
Words don't do this place justice. We are a family of 4 with 2 young girls aged 4 and 5 and our dog. We stayed for Christmas. Kinlochmoidart is truly magical. From the house and grounds to the remoteness and depth of scottish history in the area. Utterly breathtaking from the moment you turn off the main road until you reach your bed. The hosts were wonderful, very responsive and helpful and even provided us a Christmas tree and decorations for the girls to enjoy. The weather was less than desirable with storm Gerritt throwing a tantrum, yet we still managed to get out for a few hours each day, whether heading over to Arisaig for a beach trawl, Glennfinnan viaduct for a walk or exploring the grounds and local woodlands. It was phenomenal. Our days started with watching the chickens from the kitchen window for breakfast and finished with reading books by the fire. We enjoyed ourselves so much we have already booked a return visit. Thank you so much.
Our family of 4 and dog had a lovely stay at Kinlochmodiart for five nights. We were very fortunate to have some beautiful weather, and after packed days of walking and visiting places, we were grateful to return to a warm and comfortable space. The house at Kinlochmodiart is a delight with wonderful grounds, lots of wildlife on the doorstep, and some of the best star gazing we've ever experienced. Really recommended as a great base in the West Highlands for exploring the Ardnamurchan peninsula.
Turret lies between Glenfield and Leiper, and is entered by the House's original back door through an attractive round stone arch.
Turret has everything you need for a relaxing Highland getaway. Ideal for a small group or couple seeking to get away from it all, Turret has been converted in order to preserve and enhance its original Victorian features and offers you the chance to step back in time while you disconnect from everyday life.
Offering two bedrooms, one double and one twin, along with a bright sitting room with a log fire and spacious kitchen, this property is the perfect space for a small family or group of friends. The bathroom has been recently renovated, with a large bath and waterfall shower for an added bit of luxury.
Ideally positioned to visit the many beautiful places nearby with many popular spots including Arisaig / Glenfinnan/ Fort William/ Ardnamurchan.
We are in a remote location of Scotland, a car is highly recommended. There is plenty of parking space available
The nearest train station is Lochailort, which is 8 miles away, and there is a daily bus service that goes into Fort William with the bus company Sheil Buses.
