Great place. Very clean and cozy

The apartment above the Cozy Blue Barn was very clean and spacious while also being as cozy as advertised. Host Christine left us a delicious fresh baked loaf of sourdough bread which we enjoyed with butter the night we arrived. There is great beach and bay access on either side of the narrow Sand Point, where the barn is located, and the nearby towns of Caseville and Port Austin are not overly commercialized but they do have some shops and restaurants. Of course the Michigan Thumb Coast is rich in natural attractions, with great views of Lake Huron and Saginaw Bay. It was too late in the season for us to paddle to Turnip Rock but we did find the huge scoops of ice cream at the General Store in Grind Stone City. NOTE: The apartment would not work for those who can’t do stairs and there is not much in the way of restaurants or shops that you can walk to nearby, but if you have a car there is a lot to see and do in the area!

The place was immaculate! Easy walk to the beach, instructions and recommendations on a paper near the entrance, and a personal welcome note.
