My wife and I love hiking and the outdoors in general so we were looking for a place easily drivable from Cincinnati. New River Gorge was the perfect location. After perusing numerous cabins in the general area on Airbnb, I found myself coming back to Mountain Momma. We were thrilled when we opened the door and walked into a beautifully outfitted cabin. Everything felt clean and new. Follow the written directions closely. You really do need to go all the way to the end of the road…and then some. The cabin is actually tucked back just a bit and hard to see so if you think you’ve gone too far you haven’t. Keep in mind Mt. Nebo is about 20 minutes from the bridge and the north end of the park but is right near Summerville Lake. The accommodations were everything we were looking for and would highly recommend Johnny’s Mountain Momma as a get away location.

My girlfriend and I have stayed at Johnny's place several times since 2021, and we always look forward to our next visit. Johnny is always responsive, accommodating, and friendly. The area itself is quiet, private, and just overall soothing. The gorge is nearby with some fantastic scenic options, as well as the Summersville Lake

I did not read the directions fully that Johnny sent because as I said, I had owned it. I missed the door code in the middle of the.directions, so I texted him when we got there. Twice actually. No response. So I called. My sons girlfriend was standing across the porch and she was shocked by him as well. I didnt get any further than I need the code. He was loud and extremely rude. He starts out with, Well, number one the code was in the message I sent you, then he started a number 2. I interrupted him and said I was sorry I missed it in the message, then I hung up. His attitude was not necessary. I feel the the rental is not reallt cheap, and I should not been subjected to his rudeness.

Pictures and listing very accurate, great cabin. Very clean, nice deck, fire pit. Not quite as serene as expected. Even though tucked away in the woods, you hear the highway below when outside. And you don't see any neighbors, but they sure love their chainsaws. All in all I would still recommend the place.

Mountain Momma was just as advertised. Clean. Comfortable. Secluded. Quiet. Easy access to a zillion things to do and see. We had an absolute blast and would 100% stay there again… we actually plan on it! It’s not an accident this property has a perfect rating.. Johnny gets it! Thank you for helping make our 18th anny a great one!
