Tyler · 整套乡村小屋 · 2室2床1.0卫 · 可住4人 · Entire Cozy Cottage Historical Azalea District
Welcome to our humble cottage, built in 1946 and lovingly restored, retaining many of the original details. Tall windows dominate all of the rooms, letting in light that is filtered through the shade of the old live oak trees in the front and the huge pecan tree in the back. We have recently rejuvenated the kitchen and bathroom and our guests ❤️the results. Guests’ pets can enjoy a fully fenced in, spacious backyard. Guests ❤️ our fully stocked luxury coffee bar featuring 4 kinds of coffee Our newly renovated cottage dates back to 1946. It is totally up to 2023 standards with new electrical wiring, plumbing, insulation, windows, AC unit, roofing and a new kitchen with energy saving appliances. However, we kept many charming original details such as the arches in the rooms, the original glass doorknobs, the original oak hardwood floors, the pull down ironing board, original tiles in the bathroom to name a few. The 75 year old live oak trees provide shade in summer and filter the light coming in the front side of the house.
A great spot to stay! Everything was SUPER clean, the house has been very tastefully remodeled with all of the comfort and conveniences provide. We were lucky enough to see all of the beautiful azaleas in the nearby neighborhood. I would highly recommend!
We enjoyed our weekend at Torsten’s place it. It is centrally located and the host was responsive and added personal touch to check in with treating by name!
Unifying the Azalea district are beautiful gardens featuring mass azalea plantings, pecans, oaks, and maples that gave the district its identity and name, as well as the historical homes, both grand and small. For these reasons the Azalea Residential Historic District Nomination was approved and designated in June of 2003 as a National Historic District. Taking a walk around our neighborhood is always fun. We enjoy admiring the individual and unique architecture of each individual cottage. We often cross Broadway to admire the grander homes and gardens. We love walking to Bergfeld center for breakfast or lunch at First Watch or a coffee at the Health Bar. Bergfeld park has an outdoor stage and hosts outdoor events so be sure you check the event schedule. Alternatively it is fun to walk through the Charnwood district to admire the old plantation mansions on our way to The Foundry for the best Barrista coffee in all of Tyler. Rick’s on the Square or EXT brewing are both great places. The Urban Market on the square downtown has a great view of the square and comfy outdoor lounge furniture. There is a bar next door that features 20 different artisan beers. Another favorite is taking a walk to The Catch for the best grilled shrimp salad in town. You will have to walk along 5th street a bit but at least it has a sidewalk! Enjoy!
Of course most places are mainly assessable by car in Tyler but we think It is fun to take walks around our neighborhood and admire the historical homes and gardens. Wall Avenue, Sneed and posh Belmont, all close by, will give you a impression of the range of homes, each with individual architecture and ranging from grand to small. Walk to Bergfeld Park, Children’s Park or simply to The Bergfeld shopping center for coffee or lunch (First Watch and the honey pecan salad here Highly recommended) or antique shopping. It feels like being in a small town within the bigger city of Tyler.
