Leona’s Cottage is a unique hand built gem nestled in a peaceful wooded setting 2 miles down a quiet country road that’s surrounded by peaceful pastures and natural woodlands. The Cottage is a wonderful get-a-way for those looking for rustic charm but still wanting modern luxuries. Leona’s Cottage shares the road with Emily’s Cottage and is separated by a grove of trees far enough apart for total privacy but close enough for larger gatherings of up to 8 guests. Leona's Cottage was constructed On-Site with lumber from a Local Amish Saw Mill. Many of the unusual furnishings were found locally and many are old family pieces. The cottage sits within our small farm in a cove of woods, far enough away for total privacy. You may get a glimpse of us tending the gardens. The Screened Porch is a great place to observe the many creatures small and large including deer, fox, chipmunks and many types of feathered friends including owls and woodpeckers. Evenings are best spent cooking on the Outdoor Grill and sitting around the Outdoor Fire Pit. You'll find a stack of complimentary firewood for each night’s stay with more available on the Honor System. We also allow you to collect any dead and downed wood for your fire. For the sweet tooth you’ll find Marshmallows & Skewers. An Outside Table and Chairs is located in the Grilling area making it easy to enjoy your outdoor meals. Play a game of Corn Hole too. Inside you'll be greeted by a wonderfully comfortable Sectional Sofa, Large Roku TV, WIFI (usually speedy) and an assortment of interesting books, board games and cards. The dining table seats 4 adults and is a fun place to play the many board games, cards and puzzles that you'll find in the cottage. The bedroom is arranged with 2 Queen Beautyrest Mattresses, 8 Luxurious Pillows and high quality 100% Cotton Linens. Mattresses and Pillows are Fully Encased in Mattress/Pillow Protectors. Your Bathroom accommodates all your personal needs and comes complete with Shelving for your Personal Items as well as numerous Hooks for Towels and Clothes. Complimentary items include Shampoo, Conditioner, Body Soap and a Blow Dryer. The fully functional Kitchen is equipped with a Stove/Oven, Refrigerator/Freezer, Full Size Sink and plenty of cookware, place settings and kitchen towels. You'll find a K-Pod Coffee Machine, Tea Pot, Microwave, Crockpot and Toaster. Complimentary items include Coffee, Teas, Cream and Sugar along with regular condiments, paper towels, dish soap and kitchen towels. Summertime guests will enjoy In-Room Air Conditioning and Ceilings fans while the cooler season guests and are welcome to turn on the In-Room Propane Heaters.
