A hidden gym in the small town of Maralik, 1,800 meters above sea level, we checked in 2 days earlier than planned, so in total we were supposed to stay for 5 nights. The property is well taken care of with play area, bar b q, table tennis and a small pool, photos may not give accurate expectations as the property in the photos appears bigger than it actually is, we were first shown into a tiny room which we did not accept, so we were taken to a bigger one bed room apartment which was very good. The host is staying in the property and always around for whatever is needed, patiently helping and giving suggestions, you would expect to have the family around for the most part which was good for us, others may perceive it as invading privacy, we were lucky to arrive when the family was celebrating the graduation of their kind daughter from school, we were invited to a nice dinner with the family, awesome bar b q, the daughter who was our only translater was super patient and kind, she is leaving to the capital for her law degree.. The family was so caring and loving and took care of us like one of their own, they looked after our son with all his explorations around the property, we felt safe, welcomed and happy.. great great host. We checked out one day earlier than what we have paid for, for one we wanted to have our PCR done early for our flight, but also we didnt feel comfortable as we felt being interrogated on our last night in relation to our interaction with other group who were there hosted for one night during our stay, it was somewhat invasive with accusations of suspicions of using illicit substance, we felt it was off limits for the host, it was awkward and hence we were comfortable to leave the next day. The over all experience was amazing, connected to Armenians in the best possible way and got the feeling of their vibe, a great nation. We were given a daily breakfast and they were kind enough to pack it for us if we wanted to leave early, honestly great great breakfast, generous and delicious, we loved it. They helped us do our bar b q as well and when it rained while doing it they took the tomahawk inside into their oven and prepared it for us.. The beds were not comfortable as thé mattress is not very well supportive of the back, the one bedroom had everything, wifi, washer, gas cocking, kitchen essentials, smart TV, dining table, and a good heating system when it gets cold. You are about 35 min drive from Gymri and about 1:45 min from Yerevan.
