This house is a family camp used for several generations of the owners' family. It is comfortable and homey, with all the essentials for a relaxed vacation. The owner was responsive to questions when they arose and had a helpful attitude. We enjoyed being in a quiet and private spot but close to hiking, dining, water activities, and shops. The owner provides a guidebook with clear and detailed instructions about using and caring for the house.

The host is easy to communicate with and responsive. But the place needs a deep cleaning and repairs both indoors and out. Some positives: The house is large and was comfortable for 10 people. It has a working fireplace for cold nights. There’s a wonderful screened-in front porch with a long table to seat a large group. Some negatives: Kitchen dishes were dirty in the cabinets; supplies were limited (bring toilet paper for your first night!); the wood on the dock is rotted and the ladder pulled off on the first day; the picnic table is also rotted and the leg collapsed; the compost bin is broken which means there is trash strewn through the backyard by nocturnal animals. It’s a nice location with a congenial host. If repairs were made, especially ones for maintaining safety, and if a deep cleaning was done, it’d be a lot better.

This is a wonderful place to stay. Clearly a loved generational family getaway. A perfect combination of authentic Vermont charm and character, with all the necessary amenities and comfort. The place is wonderfully situated, remarkably spotless, and perfectly appointed. Our party feels privileged to have been entrusted with this treasure, and hope that all future guests treat this place with the honor it deserves.
