Ok, this is booked with RedAwning…yes, they messaged me but the local host/owners are AMAZING! Kyan was extremely quick to respond to any questions and extremely accommodating. We left a day early to beat snow and didn’t have a single problem checking in a day early. I highly recommend booking this location. House was beautiful, surroundings are beautiful and lots of first memories for my family here! Kyan, thank you sooooo much for opening your home to us!

This is one of the coolest AirBNBs I’ve ever stayed at! If you’re looking for a private escape, you can’t go wrong with this place. It’s well-appointed, clean, an absolutely beautiful cabin, and the ranch it sits on is breathtaking! The host couldn’t have done a better job of making sure we had everything we needed. The road up to the cabin is narrow, steep, and rocky, but I wouldn’t hesitate to tackle it with any AWD or even just a FWD with a little ground clearance. Stay here. You won’t regret it!

The cabin on the Old Raton Pass was a perfect getaway for my family, especially having grown up in Raton. The views are unmatched, wildlife abounds, and our hosts were responsive and helpful! There are so many great hiking trails and lookouts, and we particularly loved seeing the old adobe NM welcome center, and Toadstool Park. Since it is monsoon season in summer, definitely have 4wd and be mindful of which route to take up and down the pass depending on the weather. We lucked out and also saw several of the hot air balloons on their first ascent in July for the Raton Balloon Fiesta - that was quite a treat!

Fantastic views Great hiking Feels remote even though Raton is ~20min down the hill. SUV or 4x4 (preferred) to get up there. Very nice but small quarters. Better suited to 2 than 3+ Fantastic hosts, very responsive and helpful.
