This place was amazing! What a beautiful property :) We enjoyed everything this place had to offer. The staff were so friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay again! Thank you Philip and Matthew :)

Mathew was an AMAZING host to us during our 4-day stay! The house was huge, immaculate and comfortable with gorgeous and peaceful surroundings, including mountains and farmland. Even more stellar than the photos. We wished our itinerary left us with more time to enjoy the property which has a restaurant, wine tasting, swimming, pickleball and tennis courts. We did make use of laundry service, which was perfect. Mathew spent lots of time discussing a variety of topics with us that helped us to learn even more about the diverse cultural and natural landscapes of South Africa. And we awakened each morning to a delicious breakfast, that included croissants, toast, fruit, yogurt, tea and coffee. But the best part of breakfast had to be those eggs! They even won over our 15-year old son who is very picky about his eggs. Mathew also referred us to other services that made it easy for us to get around Cape Town and Somerset, including sightseeing and grocery shopping. Can’t wait to come back!

Wow! What a magnificent Manor House that felt like home away from home. The staff were phenomenally friendly and we so enjoyed every meal that they prepared for us all, as well as chatting to them throughout our stay. They were available for every little thing we needed and by the time we had to leave, every one of our guests just wanted to stay on longer! This trip exceeded our expectations and we would be delighted to return in the future! Thank you to everyone!

Wow!!!!!!! The most amazing house, beautiful setting and incredible staff!!!! Matthew and co who ran the house were so helpful and professional!! What amazing people! They prepared the most delicious breakfast and managed a full house of people so amazingly!! Jacuzzi, pool, beautiful rolling lawn…. Amazing clean bedrooms and bathrooms… Thank you thank you!! 5 star all round !!

Avontuur is a seriously special place. We went with 19 of us to celebrate a wedding and spent 5 days there and we wish it could’ve been longer! The house and rooms are so spacious, we barely explored everything. Matthew was such a lovely host, organising Braais and helping with taxis and any questions we had. We can’t wait to come back !
