Marina Azzurra Resort is located in the municipality of Lignano Sabbiadoro, on the left bank of the river Tagliamento, about 2 kms away from the outlet which acts as a natural border between the regions of Friuli Venezia Giulia and Veneto. Marina resort is composed of houseboats docked on the pier and of houseboats safely docked along the banks of the river Tagliamento, easily accessible via wharfs made out of exotic wood. The shape of the houseboats reminds of the typical casoni (fishermen’s huts) of the Friulian and Venetian lagoons. In the past, casoni were used by lagoon fishermen and their families as homes, composed of square wooden structures and sloping roofs covered with reeds and other materials gathered in the wild. Some still exist to this day, mostly belonging to private owners or used as restaurants or inns. The houseboats in Marina Azzurra have a 6 x 10 m size, they are divided on two floors and can host up to 6 people. The total internal surface amounts to 65 m2, plus 18 m2 balcony. The entrance is located on the main deck, supplied with a 6.50 m2 balcony. On the inside is a small living room with a double convertible couch, one bedroom with king-size bed and wardrobe, one bedroom with twin beds, an ample bathroom with shower box and a closet. A stair leads to the upper deck, where you can find the living area composed of a dining room with kitchenette in glass-ceramics, completely equipped with accessories and dishes. The living area opens to a 12 m2 large balcony covered by an awning, the ideal spot to relax and enjoy your meals in the open, or where you can sunbathe or read a good book. All houseboats are equipped with state-of-the-art technology: sat TV, Wi-Fi, air conditioning and mosquito nets on all windows. CLUBHOUSE The Clubhouse is Marina Azzurra Resort’s main hub, a meeting point for all guests of the tourist resort which is open at all hours. The Clubhouse is built on a floating ferry of 40 m x 10 m divided on three floors, two of which are closed and one open. On the lower, covered floors you will find the scrumptious breakfast and dinner buffet. Guests have the possibility to order their meals to take away, so they can enjoy them in the tranquility of their houseboat. On the open upper deck there is a lounge bar with musical entertainment, from which you can admire the fading daylight or the starlit sky. After breakfast, the ferry can set sail for an excursion reserved to all guests of Marina Azzurra Resort and Europa Tourist Group. The resort’s strategic location allows the ferry to sail up the river Tagliamento for a 25-km stretch, thus allowing for a visit to the historical city centre of Latisana, with its Neo-classic style cathedral, or to sample a glass of local wine in one of the many cellars scattered throughout the Friulian inland, the perfect way to get in touch with the local tradition. The boat ride can be made even more relaxing by a lunch on board, enjoying a light but delicious fish fry. POOL PARK The Pool Park expands on a 450 m2 water surface with the colours of the lagoon, and it is composed of a swimming pool for adults (130 cm deep), a swimming pool for children equipped with water slides (from 20 to 50 cm deep) and a wellness area (90 cm deep). The seats, sun beds and hot tubs will caress your body and give you a pleasant feeling of pure relax. The waterfalls for cervical massage will release the tension from your head, neck and shoulders and will transport you into a parallel dimension of wellness. Your whole body will regain new vitality which is going to linger long after you’ve gone back home. The ample sun terrace is equipped with tanning beds, complete with soft beach towels, and beach umbrellas made of straw. BBQ AREA Inside the resort, just a few steps away from the banks of the river Tagliamento, you will find a common green area, equipped with gazebos and barbecues which allows for delicious grill lunches or dinners. Picture yourselves in a boat on a river, with emerald trees and water-blue skies. The sounds of nature will be the only thing that you will hear, and if you are lucky you may also hear the lion’s roar coming from the nearby zoological garden Parco Zoo Puntaverde in Lignano Sabbiadoro! The location is spot-on for a healthy and rich barbecue together with your loved ones, prepared with locally sourced, freshly caught bluefish. SPORT The common green area is equipped with a bocce court, a beach volley court on sand, a tennis court and a multi-purpose synthetic court (five-a-side football, volleyball and basketball). An area where the youth can socialise and sports enthusiasts can practise all kinds of disciplines out in the open. For the younger guests, we have prepared a sandbox playground in the shade and theme slides. Guests of Marina Azzurra Resort can rent a bicycle for the whole stay. The bike is the ideal means of transport to discover the seaside towns of Lignano Sabbiadoro and Bibione: enjoy the breathtaking landscape while you ride along the 17-km long cycling path. Bikes may be rented for € 2,00/day based upon availability. E-Bikes as long as available are for renting at clients’ disposal. BEACH SERVICE Lignano Riviera’s beach is only 2.5 km away from Marina Azzurra Resort. Guests can get to the beach on their bikes, following a bike trail surrounded by lush vegetation. All guests are entitled to free beach service (one beach umbrella and two sun beds for each houseboat) on the beach sectors of Lignano Riviera.
