The most beautiful little cottage suitable for four people and pet friendly. The space was so nicely decorated and very clean. The beds were comfortable. We had regular visits from caribou every morning. This sweet cottage is also located steps away from a lovely hike along the ocean. I would definitely stay here again !
Really great end of season trip. The location of the house is almost unbelievable, just spectacular. Just steps from the water and from the really great coastal trail to the auk sculpture. Would definitely return.
Had an awesome stay, cottage very rustic with added cozy lighting. Loved the accommodations and slept well even with the high wind blowing outside. Added bonus woke up to a caribou feeding outside our window. Highly recommend.
At your doorstep is Etheridge's Point park. This features a kids playground, ballpark, picnic area with gazebo, firepits and a small but lovely white sandy beach. Step outside the Cottage and start to walk on the Joe Batt’s Point trail. The trail is 4.6km, round trip and is classified as easy-moderate. It offers scenic coastal views, with icebergs often visible during the season. One of Shorefast’s artist studios, the Long Studio, is located along the trail, as well as traditional gardens still in use and a bronze monument to the now extinct Great Auk at the end of the trail. Breathtaking views of the Atlantic Ocean and windswept shoreline will leave you longing for more of nature’s purity.
The last site to experience on Etheridge’s Point is the infamous Witches Foot. Come and marvel at this footprint left by a powerful witch and count the imprints of all six toes!
You can also explore the Island Massage Therapy, Brett House museum, Storehouse Restaurant, Growler’s Ice Cream Shop, and Adam Young’s artist studio; all located in Joe Batt’s Arm!
Parking is at the front of the Red Shed Cottage in the driveway.
