Scott’s place was great with a lot of good atmosphere. The artwork was cool to explore around and look at. The house has a ton of livelihood and character. Scott was an excellent host, with a provided video guide, easy check in instructions, and clear, quick communication.
Overall, a wonderful stay in a majestic art-filled home in a cute town. The only inconvenience was that all doors need a key, no smart lock, and one door locks automatically. It caused an issue for all parties. Other than this, Scott is communicative and responsive. What he’s done to create this place into an airbnb shows love and care. I do recommend visiting this home.
From the moment our communication began with Scott... it was such a pleasure. Beyond his hospitable nature, his response time was immediate. Once this mansion is fully up and running (ongoing remodeling) I am certain that those who stay... will be delightfully impressed with his "eclectic" ... "Artsy" and somewhat "eerie" feel! We will be visiting again in the future
The woodwork in this gem of a house is truly amazing. It is right by a park with a nice walk loop. Very quiet! Scott answered the 2 questions I had within a couple minutes. A wonderful front porch to sit on and get the home town feel. If you prefer seclusion, there is a lovely area in back surrounded by greenery. Every time we looked around we seemed to find another interesting piece of artwork or architecture.
Scott and Gus were great hosts. The place is a great value for what is offered. The backyard and side patio are wonderful to hang out. The house is interesting and continues to be worked on, but nothing was inconvenient. I'm very happy to have stayed here and would again if I was returning to the area
Henry is a quiet, charming town on the Illinois River, less than 30 mins from Starved Rock State Park to the North, and Peoria to the South. You can walk to the river as well as the local grocery store.
