Excellent host. Excellent accommodations. Excellent location, far enough away from the craziness of Waikiki, but within walking distance (15-20 minutes) of Kapiolani Park and beautiful beaches!

Terry and Camellia were great hosts and very responsive to any questions or needs. She even provided a First-Aid kit after I cut my foot kayaking:) Highly recommend this location with safe off street parking and only a twenty minute walk to the beach. Diamond Head market is just a few blocks away and their grill has amazing lunch and dinner! You can’t go wrong with anything on the menu:)

Terry was an amazing host! She was responsive, friendly, helpful and respectful of our privacy/space. We even woke up to fresh malasadas outside our door one morning! The kitchen was stocked with everything you’d need to cook meals, have coffee, tea etc. and even had a few extras like a vegetable peeler and rice cooker! The appliances and wifi worked great and air conditioners too. It’s a great location and easy to get around, with plenty to do and options for dining out. As another reviewer noted, the unit is the bottom (lower unit) of a triplex so you will hear noise from upstairs/next door. The resident next door had loud music/guests late into the evening several nights during our stay. The windows are jalousie and with some of the bedroom windows at street level, cars coming/going from the cul-de-sac and driveway tend to shine lights into the bedrooms at night. Overall it’s an excellent location and Terry is a wonderful host but I did find the noise to be challenging.

We had a great experience during our 2week stay at the Surf Shack. The hosts were super responsive to our every need. A well appointed kitchen made eating-in easy. Appreciated the use of one beach chair and beach towels provided. The local food recommendations listed in the guest guidebook was a wealth of information about local cuisine … many within walking distance of the Airbnb. My favorite: the outdoor area just outside the entry was wonderful for morning coffee and taking in the cool morning Hawaiian breezes. Outdoor shower was a bonus. Just can’t say enough good things…. I could have just stayed there forever! Thanks to Carmella and Terry for helping us make wonderful memories at the Surf Shack!!
