Wir waren für 4 Tage in der Quinta Tranquila von Robin und Kate und haben uns verliebt. Die Ruhe, Entspannung und Natur pur haben unseren Aufenthalt zu etwas ganz Besonderem gemacht. Die Unterkunft hatte alles was man braucht, wenn nicht sogar mehr. Es war liebevoll eingerichtet, jedes Detail war abgestimmt. Der Garten und die ganze Anlage war wunderschön. Das kleine Highlight: der Fluss und der Wald. Das Flusswasser war glasklar und sauber. Wundervoll nach einem heißen Tag. Ich empfehle Wasserschuhe für den Einstieg. Man konnte super runter kommen und alles hinter sich lassen. Alles in Allem war ich sehr traurig, als wir die Unterkunft verlassen mussten weil wir ein paar weitere Tage in Lissabon gebucht hatten. Ich musste fast eine Träne verdrücken, da die beiden einen magischen Ort geschaffen haben, und diesen mit der Welt teilen. Wir werden auf jeden Fall wieder kommen! Danke Robin und Kate für diese tolle Erfahrung!

Tranquilla is what we were looking for and tranquilla plus paradise is what we got! We deeply enjoyed our stay at Robin's & Cate's dream house in the hills. The house has all (and more) we needed for a restful vacation. The view from the beautiful terrace as well as the shady place down by the river are absolute bliss. We can't wait to come back. Thank you for the wonderful time, Cate & Rob!

No photo can possibly show how one FEELS in this place, - what it's like to wake up to the chirping of birds and the perfume of eucalyptus trees or how it feels to move through a house that has no sharp edges and that seems to breathe like the Earth itself. It was a beautiful experience and I only wish we could have stayed longer. Robin and Cate were perfect hosts, invisible yet always there when we needed advice or help. I would definitely recommend!

Yes! Stay here! The place is absolutely beautiful up to the last little detail. Cate and Rob have an eye for beautiful and simple aesthetics that makes you feel at home immediately! The surroundings are absolutely breathtaking. The place combines great privacy with great neighbours (the hosts, the owls, and the cows with their gently tinkling bells in the distance). Rob and Cate were always happy to help with whatever we needed! And although we were expecting an adventure, the house being offgrid and everything, there is hot water, electricity, a great kitchen, a very comfy big bed and all the comfort you need. So if, like us, you are looking for a little piece of paradise, while only a 20 min drive from the beach and a 10 min drive from the shops, then go here!

This place is absolutely beautiful. Robin and Cate greeted us warmly on arrival and helped us with our bags and getting settled in. The house has absolutely everything you need to feel at home. My husband cooked delicious meals and we picked fresh veggies from the garden. We enjoyed the abundant bird life - the house is uniquely situated so that it's level with the treetops, giving you a perfect viewpoint of the surrounding landscape and birds! It's an easy walk down to the river where we took dips and lazed in the hammocks. It's a 15 minute drive to the nearby towns where there are restaurants, grocery stores, a fabulous bakery, and several breathtaking beaches. Though off-grid, the solar power is so robust we were hardly aware, and the internet connection was reliable. It's also very private! Getting there was not difficult - we followed the map coordinates and found the place easily, but arriving during daylight for the first time is best. We'll be back!
