There are a number of wonderful places to visit within about an hour's drive including the beautiful town of Owego, NY, Vineyards and Wineries, Blueberry and apple picking farms, Hills Creek State Park, Tioga Hammond Dam Park, historic Wellsboro famous for its Summer Laurel Festival and Dickens of a Christmas, the Grand Canyon of PA and many more places to see and enjoy. The country side and drive to the home is scenic with wildflowers aplenty and amazing fall colors. Despite the country settings, there are plenty of towns nearby with great restaurants.

You will need a car to get around. It is advisable to get to the destination before nightfall as cell coverage is at times spotty at the top of the mountain, close to the home, it is advisable to plan to be there before nightfall the first time you get there. If you use google maps, please down it.
Here are specific directions: From Troy Rt6 and Rt 14, take Rt 14N. to Right onto Springfield Rd. to Left onto Big Pond Rd. Once into the village of Big Pond, take left onto N. Lake Rd. and at the Y take the left side which is S Lake Rd. Follow through to 63, which is on the right side. Please note the homes are not numbered in order and there are higher numbers that appear before 63. The cottage is not visible from the top of the driveway. Park in the driveway and follow steps down to the cottage.
