We were welcomed by a member of Studio In who manage the property in a very professional way. The owners had a generous welcome gift of wine and food from the region! Studio in helped us arrange a tour to Erna and a winery which was great!!! The house is lovely, very spacious rooms and the garden is gorgeous, especially the pool and the barbecue! It was clearly built with a high standard and luxurious furnishings but needs some attention - uneven floor, the shower cabin on the top floor clearly needs replacement (water is coming from everywhere). Nevertheless, we enjoyed our stay a lot and the proximity to Catania and Taormina is an advantage. Also the „private“ street with parking possibility in front of the house is a huge plus for a property in Sicily.

The backyard was lovely and the host was responsive and very helpful. In general, the house needs maintenance and was dirty and dusty in many areas. There was no AC or light in the living room which made it difficult to sit as a group. The kitchen also feels dirty and many things were falling apart. the cleaners were also cleaning when we arrived and we noticed the house was really really dirty. They cleaned as much they could, but it was still not that clean when we stayed. The area of Mascali is also not great. It’s local to many other destinations, but it’s dirty and run down. There is not much to do locally that is appealing. I wouldn’t recommend the area to anyone looking to enjoy a Sicilian town.

we had a very nice stay. a small oasis in the middle of mascali. communication was great. I can warmly recommend the accommodation:)

Nous avons été ravis d’avoir séjourné dans cette joli villa avec cette magnifique piscine. Nous sommes venus avec des amies qui ont occupé l’étage. La climatisation était grandement appréciée avec ces journées très chaudes. Je recommande ce séjour à la villa Oras.

The house itself was great. Spacious and ample and as described, and extremely clean. We only heard the owners downstairs once night when they had people over for dinner. We have one year old twins who were well accommodated with cots and high chairs. Lots of good communal spaces and a nice terrace for outside eating. Communication with our host was excellent. There is a spectacular pool but unfortunately it was a too cold for us to use it. It was very warm when we were there (28 degrees in October!) but it’s in the shade so it’s really a summer-only pool. Unfortunately Sicily has a huge rubbish problem. It was everywhere in the town, especially on the way to the beach, which is also more ideal for the summer as everything was closed when we were there. For the rest, there are decent shops, bakeries, cafes, and a pharmacy in the town a short walk away, but you will need a car to find the nice beaches, especially if off-season. Luckily the villa is a half hour drive from Taormina, and 45min to 1 hr to Catania which are highly worth seeing. We also drove to Syracuse which was about 90 mins but very much worth it.
