Hotel Laxnes is a comfy lodge-style retreat overlooking the Mountain Esja and is located in the coastal town of Mosfellsbaer. The local area offers nature lovers: rivers, waterfalls, mountains, sea, hiking trails, and seeing the Northern lights. Mosfellsbaer is family-friendly and offers play parks, swimming pools, and various eateries. The private studio comes with 3 x 90 cm beds, private bathroom, flatscreen TV, hairdryer.

Location, Location, Location. This is very convenient for a gateway between Reykjavik, the Golden Circle, and the Snaefellsness Peninsula. The facilities are a bit dated ....but it appears that they are working on upgrading. My primary issue was bedding. Lumpy pillows and rough bed linens. I also had issue with the scented detergent used ....although this may be a plus for some people.
Laxnes studio was a perfect room for my family with kids. It was very clean and had all basic amenities. Very near to local supermarket and bus stop, is added advantage. Host was very helpful in providing local guidance. Highly satisfied with our stay in Laxnes. Would highly recommend.

This is actually a quaint hotel room located about 20 minutes from Reykjavík! For the amazing price, there are so many amenities that you get including a COMPLIMENTARY breakfast! Each day our room was sparkling clean and we really appreciated coming back to a cozy and well lit room after a day of hiking and exploring the beautiful country of Iceland. The location was quite scenic with a spectacular view of the nearest mountains. Our host, Shaun, was gracious and kind and a pleasure to meet! This hotel is underrated because they are new to Air BnB but it is absolutely worth the stay! See for yourself on trip advisor! Thanks Shaun! Highly recommend this cute and cozy hotel!

Whilst being only a 15-minute drive away from Reykjavik city center, our town is a perfect balance of enjoying the comforts of the countryside with easy access to all popular destinations, for example, Golden Circle, north & west Iceland. Our town has a great swimming pool, loads of grocery stores, a bakery, gas station, pharmacies, restaurants, and all the basic services you need during your travels. Geysir and Gullfoss waterfall are approximately 60-90 minutes drive from our hotel, as we have direct access to the main ring road in Iceland "road number 1".
We recommend arriving in a rental car or taking a taxi from the BSÍ bus terminal.
Public transport is also conveniently located directly outside the hotel. Strætó is the main public transportation company in Iceland. You can take bus number 15 or check out their website to find out the best way to take the bus to our Hotel.

自我介绍
I´m originally from the north of Iceland from Siglufjörður. In 1960 I appeared on TV for a comedy Christmas song and was an entertainer & comedian for many years. The hotel started as the only local pub 50 years ago. I was awarded the man of the year from our local town Mosfellsbaer in 2008, the year the hotel was built, prior to the growth in tourism in Iceland. I am the father of 4 children, 6 grand children and 1 great grand child. At 72 I am a young man, fit and always active around the hotel.
