Since my student days at Glasgow University in the seventies Kinloch Rannoch has been the area for well-to-do all-male shooting parties being ushered in and out of overnight sleepers-so, being vegetarians, in 50 years we haven't been there to hike. This year our daughter suggested to do so for our annual hiking tour-and the hikes proved glorious, the vista brilliant and the weather not too poor. The bothy was comfortable and especially the stove enjoyable. We also followed Melanie's suggestions and visited the tearoom at the station as well as the cinema at Aberfeldy. Although it was quite chilly, we had a good time. Thank you!
Lovely hideaway right on the beach with everything you need for a short stay. We were there in January and the wood burner kept the place cosy throughout. Communication was great. Would definitely stay again.

Stayed here for two nights over New Years '23/24 with my wife. The place was exactly as described - peaceful and tranquil on the southern side of Loch Rannoch. As close as you can get to nature without leaving behind the mod cons. I literally can't find any faults with the place and the value for money was incredible. I highly recommend checking out the 45min loop walk in the woodland behind their place. Bringing wellies, additional food/drink and extra blankets was a good move in winter too. Melanie is a fantastic host - her communication before and after the trip was proactive and directions/instructions were comprehensive. We had no troubles whilst there. Really hope to return one day.
The bothy was a perfect getaway from the hustle and bustle. Beautiful auld forest and great quiet space.

Peter and I took early retirement and moved here from Wales in 2017. Peter is a life-long fly fisherman, we’re both horse-riders, and I’m a keen wild water swimmer (now daily in Loch Rannoch). We enjoy walking, cycling, and pootling on Loch Rannoch in various boats launched from our private beach which we share with guests. I’ve just taken up paddle boarding which is great fun. As each year passes, we love it here more and more.
