Really had a nice weekend on the slopes. Very convenient for its location right in front of the slopes. Also, if you want to have fun, you are 5 minutes away from the “Gargote club” which is the right place to go for the after sky!

Our stay at Olympic Village was a really enjoyable one. We found the apartment to be bright, warm, well serviced and had plentiful towels, bedding and storage. An added advantage was a garage parking spot. The host, Marcella was very attentive both before travel and during our stay. She answered any queries we had within an hour or two. The apartment would have benefitted from a toaster and kettle but we knew about this before travel and it wasn't a problem for us, we just boiled water on the stove. Apparently there are kettles available from reception but we didn't bother asking. A note for anyone organising ski school... We hadn't realised there was a ski school at the hotel which would have been more convenient, certainly in the first couple of days as our total beginner children couldn't use the lift to ski down to the other ski school areas near the Cit Roc lifts in the village. There is a 10 minute or so walk uphill into town for dinner in the evenings which wasn't a problem for us but might be for some. There is a deli about 5 minutes away serving delicious lasagne, salads, bread, cheese, wine etc. We had a take away from there one night and just heated up in the microwave as the children were too tired to go out. They also do take away at the hotel reception as well as a restaurant, which we found to be quite expensive. The swimming pool is great but you must remember to book a slot beforehand as there's no admission at the desk. You also need to have swimming caps to access the pool. There is a great sledging area for children opposite the hotel, by the lifts. This is only possible after the lifts have closed though. The convenience of lifts is great too, both a chair lift with an intermediate station for skiing quickly down to the main lift area and also the Gondola which takes you to Sauze D'oulx which was well worth it for beautiful views and great skiing. Beware the link lifts over in Sauze D'oulx close at 16.00/16.15 which means you can't get back to the Gondola for your ride back to Sestriere. We were caught out as assumed the lifts would close at 16.45 as they do in Sestriere. It is then an alternative 10 minute walk with skis to the bottom of Sauze D'oulx and two buses to get back to Sestriere....a painful experience!

Excellent séjour au village olympique. Les équipements sont de bon niveau. Nous avons particulièrement apprécié les cours de fitness en fin de journée. Équipe réactive et de nombreux services proposés aux vacanciers. Situation exceptionnelle et logement très propre. Le ménage est fait chaque jour, des prix sont proposés sur les forfaits et le parking couvert est appréciable. Nous reviendrons.

The apartment looks like in the pictures, and is decorated functional but spacious for 2 , good but small shower. The bed is quite hard , you have service around the clock from the hotel. Towels are changed daily. The complex is really close to the slope and you have everything you need there. On the other hand the supermarkets are all very expensive, so buy what you need before you get to Sestriere. There is no window in the bedroom, but you can open the balcony door in the living room. There are no special thoughts or supplies for the guests. After all is still a good place to stay.
