The Red Barn was spacious enough for my family of 10 adults, 4 kids under 10, and a pet dog. The location was easy to find. However, I feel the outside area should have had better lighting. It was very dark on the front porch, the jacuzzi area, and the playground area. The inside needs to be wiped and dust free of cobwebs. The beds were comfortable. The stove did not work properly. Bring your own seasonings as there were not any. Bring your own laundry detergents as there were not any. We had to clean trash from the downstairs couch that had been left behind. There was a rat in the downstairs toilet a hole stuffed with towels in a closet. No blinds on door window in a downstairs bedroom. Very poor reception, no singnal can't make calls or receive making it difficult for communicating with host of the home. We had 2 power outages during our stay. Finally, I found a signal to call host. They resolved issue within an hour. Bring extra face cloths and towels as there are 2 per room.

We enjoyed staying there. Two of the heating surfaces of the cooktop did not work. It was a bit hard to cook with the small heating surfaces. It would be good to upgrade the stove in the kitchen. As a suggestion, I would recommend changing the single bed in one of the bedrooms downstairs to a queen bed.

We enjoyed our stay. Our kids loved staying in the "barn" house and it was very spacious with a great location next to Beech and Banner Elk main areas.

If you are a group of friends and/or family with little ones, who enjoy the outdoors this place is ideal. If the weather turns the ground floor is perfect to watch a film and your sports game simultaneously with the two large screens. You can also play pool, pinball and used the old school arcade machine! Banner Elk is near by and so are a lot of other great mountain towns.
