The Carriage House at Downsville was fantastic! I was looking for a last minute weekend getaway to do some fishing with my son before the season closed. Im so glad we choose Johns house. Its the perfect location for hiking, plus you can fish a branch of the river right behind the property. We stay in this area a lot, but will absolutely be renting Johns place next time! Very clean house, updated bathroom, full kitchen, comfortable beds. Pet friendly! John provided a fire pit & wood, we were too tired after a full days hike, but would have loved to sit by a fire.

The Carriage House was ABSOLUTELY AMAZING! The pictures do not do this home justice. The place is gorgeous! My partner and our tiny pups enjoyed our stay. John had a list of recommendations waiting for us. We purchased day passes to the Peaceful Valley Campsite just down the road and spent the day kayaking on the river. John made us feel at home and checked in to make sure we were enjoying our stay. As someone who use to live in the Catskills It was really nice to get away from the hustle and bustle of city life especially for myself as a social worker/mental health professional and my partner who is a paramedic. The stay was just what we needed and we are looking forward to returning.
