Loris and Becky were great hosts. Clear instructions, and good value. Becky was especially helpful with my questions about the surrounding area, and she went above and beyond to accommodate. Thank you Becky.
Great location short walk to beach will return again but hope to book the larger cottage if available next time
Kori and Becky were very communicative and polite, outlining all of the check-in details beforehand which made it super easy to settle in. It was cozy and felt like home right away and the drive was long for us so that was really important. The kitchen was fully stocked with pots/pans etc and we never felt like we were missing anything. The heating works extremely well, the plumbing was good and reliable too but long showers will result in running out of hot water for the next person so be mindful of that! We didn’t run into any other visitors but that’s probably because it’s winter time - I’d be happy to return again in the summer for a different experience. We had a really nice new years and will remember our time in Port Elgin fondly. Thanks Kori and Becky!
We enjoyed our stay at Port Elgin, it was very nice to be able to walk 5 minutes to the beach. The home was clean and clear of clutter when we entered. Kori and Becky were kind enough to allow us to check-in early. I liked that there was a designated parking spot for my vehicle. The electricity, water, and heating were all working and reliable during our 2-night stay. As others mentioned the cottage is a bit older and outdated which might make it feel dirtier than it actually is. Make sure to bring your own bedding (sheets, blankets, pillows) as it is not provided for health safety reasons. If you come in the off-season and plan to cook, make sure to bring oils, salt, and pepper. I recommend checking out MacGregor Point Provincial Park if you visit Port Elgin, very beautiful.
We stayed a few days over Christmas. Very cozy and warm cottage, one of a handful of the “Backyard Cottages”. Beds were comfortable, brought our own bedding as requested. Short pleasant walk to the beach or the quaint downtown. Great walking and bicycle trails minutes away as well. Port Elgin is a beautiful town to walk and enjoy -with good restaurants as well. Pleasant stay, hope to come again.

My name is Kori . I enjoy living and caring for my kids and husband in Ontario. There are so many great opportunities to relax or to be adventurous here. I love the lakes, the bush, the towns and the people. I've driven coach bus across North America including Mexico. I've travelled to many other destinations on other continents as well and there are some wonderful people and beautiful places out there but Ontario is home and the place I love best. I have recently started doing multi sport races. I love the challenge of the competition as well as the beauty of the outdoors. On a quiet night at home, I enjoy Euro and strategy games with my family and friends. Above all else, the people in my family, parents and siblings hold my heart and my priority in life. I'm not particular on how I travel. When I do, it is most often to see family. I love to get up early and just go but when I come back, I leave at the last available moment to get the most of my time there. Because of this, I travel a lot in the early morning or through the night. Planned trips are nice but spontaneous getaways are an adventure. I enjoy making friends and guests feel welcome both in my home and in my rentals. I want to hear that travellers had a good vacation and that my accommodations contributed to that experience.
