Bright, spacious 2400 sq ft year-round Oliphant cottage located on the shore of lake Huron. Perfect for families. Gas fireplace, fully-equipped kitchen, large deck & master bedroom overlooking the lake. 3 bedroom & 3 bathrooms (2 showers, 1 tub). Laundry. Max guests 4 adults (kids over 14) , 2 kids Shallow entry perfect for families & swimming. 10 minutes from Sauble Beach & Wiarton, 1 hour from Tobermory and Blue Mountain. Experience the comforts of home in a tranquil natural setting. Our response to Covid-19 ** We are taking extra care to ensure our Airbnb is safe so that our guests will feel at ease checking in. We have initiated a new cleaning protocol to not only clean & sanitize our property but also DISINFECT, inside and outside. Kindly remember to wash your hands frequently, practice physical distancing and wear a face covering when physical distancing is a challenge. We will do our best to provide hand sanitizer for your convenience.** Families only please. 4 Adults (max) and 2 children (15 and under). Otherwise please request approval. Beautiful location right near the lake. Mattresses are comfortable and the large kitchen was great for preparing family dinners. We enjoyed our stay and look forward to another visit!

This is my second time staying at Brenda’s home. We love the location so much. The bay and water are perfect for kids to play, and the cottage is clean and cozy, with lots of seating areas and a fully equipped kitchen for meals, a great bedroom for kids as well as a master bedroom with a gorgeous view of the water. We have only been in the fall but can’t wait to return in the summer months hopefully! Thanks again Brenda for a lovely stay!

I can't say enough about the location. The beach is great, warm, soft sand and shallow for a long way out, the kids loved it. The cottage is very close to amazing hiking and lots of fun trails for kids, highly recommend Greig's caves. Sunsets on Huron can't be beat.

We had a wonderful stay at Brenda’s over Thanksgiving weekend. The house was beautiful and cozy with everything we needed. Communication was clear of what to bring. The beach was such a surprise! A beautiful bay with firm sand and shallow waters. Perfect for my young girls. They had a blast. We would love to return.

Not clean and very very uncared for home. Deck dangerously rotten. We arrived at a home that had not been cleaned after previous guests. Still toothpaste spit in the sinks. .Barbque was to filthy to use. No guests soap etc. Holiday Monday the dump was closed and after asking to leave it behind I was told NO even though garbage day was the following morning. So drove 6 hours home with garbage in our vehicle. (Proof the property is not cleaned professionally between guests) If you stay at this home be prepared to bring every single thing you will need during your stay. Bay was lovely and close to Sauble beach. But way overpriced.

Oliphant is a beautiful home base for area day tripping and exploring different activities around the Bruce. Sauble Falls is down the road. The Grotto is less than an hour away. Rockclimbing or Scuba Diving in Tobemory is an hour North. Sauble Beach, Southampton , Port Elgin & Wiarton are a short drive and great for shopping, dining and relaxing scenic drives. LCBO, Beer Store, Groceries & Gas are just 10 minutes away in Wiarton or Sauble.
In the summer, a short bike ride from the house, takes you down the road to the beach and marina where you can swim, paddle board, boat, fish, kitesurf, kayak, watch the fireworks on the long weekend or enjoy the spectatular evening sunsets. There are also boat tours of the fishing islands out of the marina.
You can enjoy both Lake Huron on the West side and Georgian Bay on the east side of the Bruce Peninsula.
Fall colours are beautiful on the Bruce and it’s a perfect time to explore kms of scenic trails, whether you’re hiking, biking, Atving, bird watching or looking for the perfect photo!
Winter is wonderful here in the North. It’s quiet and serene. You can bring or rent snowshoes, cross country skies and snowmobiles. The trails for cross country skiing are some of the best around! We are only just over an hour from downhill skiing or snowboarding at Collingwood’s Blue Mountain.
Sunsets are still stunning in the winter months so don’t forget your camera!
There’s something for everyone in the area. Hiking, snowshoeing, cross country skiing, snowmobiling, rock climbing, biking, quading, horseback riding, fly fishing, bird watching,canoeing, kayaking, the beach, pottery, golf, yoga, wine tasting, shopping boutiques, great restaurants, spas.....just tell us what you’re looking for and we’ll direct you that way.

Grotto tips:
During May 1-Oct 31 you’ll need to reserve parking.
Over the phone the cost is $20.20 per vehicle (2019 rates)
January is when you can call to find out launch date to start making reservations ahead of time.
During the week you may get a reservation the day of, but during the weekend it’s likely to be booked up ahead of time so it’s best to book in advance.
There are several 4 hour slots to book throughout the day.
8am-12pm
830am-1230pm
12pm-4pm
1230pm-430pm
4pm-8-pm
430pm-830pm
You can’t arrive any sooner than 15 min prior to your slotted time and you can’t arrive past 2 hours into your slotted time.

The best way to get around is by car, however the roads along the lake are great for biking and provide stunning scenery. Don’t forget to bring your bikes!
